On April 14, 1967, the Atlanta Club met at a luncheon at the Atlanta Athletic Club. Dean Charles F. Dey '52 of the Tucker Foundation brought news of the College and updated the alumni on the present student body. After his talk, "Brains in Turmoil — Today's Undergraduate," there was a question and answer-type discussion which brought enlightenment and greater understanding of the current student thinking and activity.
Prior to the luncheon, Charles S. "Chub"Feeney '43, visited the Club. Chub is vice president of the San Francisco Giants and was in Atlanta with the team.
The luncheon meeting produced a wonderful turn-out and the normal club reports produced some interesting and noteworthy (and printable) comments. The treasurer's report from Ed Gingrich '48 was short and straightforward with the announcement that Ed was "calm, cool and uncollected."
Reunions will be coming soon and CharlesPalmer '18 of the Atlanta Club will be visiting the College for his 50th reunion next summer.
The enrollment report from Chairman Richard (Dick) Everett '40 contained the terrific announcement that 11 out of 22 candidates had been accepted. This is an all-time record for both the number and percentage of acceptances.
President C.C. (Kelly) Coffin '43 then announced that Dick had been nominated to the Alumni Council - a great honor for the Club, the state, and the Southeast.
