The Daily Dartmouth often comments on the decrease of campus enthusiasm for traditional ceremonies such as hazing, class fights and hums; but we think that Wet-down this year came back with a bang. The parade to the stump of the Old Pine started with few in line, but the line grew and grew and when the classes lined up for the running of the gauntlet we tingled with anticipation, in more ways than one. The juniors headed by the incoming Palaeopitus went through the seniors first and suffered little, although the first ones through immediately lined up and started in on their own classmates. The sophomores found a line stretching from the Inn down to the White Church with the curve around to Webster rapidly growing, and the poor freshmen became long-distance runners. Here and there one would try to break the line only to be hurled back in and punished for his weakness. However, there were no casualities and posterior absolutes soon recovered.
