CLASS OF 1898
April 1931 H. Philip Patey

In the Chicago Tribune for February 26 appeared the likeness of a very attractive looking young lady by the name of Miss Ilda Pope, whose parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Pope, were announcing her engagement.

The Secretary was in Chicago February 25 and had a pleasant call on Seth Pope and Albert Smith. Albert is frequently consulted when some fine new building is being erected in Chicago. Seth is trying out his new position as president of the Old Dearborn Trust.

Buck Chandler and Joe Bartlett with their wives are enjoying an automobile trip in Florida.

Recently the Secretary was in Newburyport. A schoolmaster may not accumulate a large supply of this world's goods, but the affection and esteem of worthwhile citizens and young people must constitute genuine satisfaction. Such a reward is continually coming to our loyal classmate Montgomery.

The annual Boston-Dartmouth dinner has come and gone. The class of '97 had a well filled table. The class of '98 was not as much in evidence as usual. We must plan for a larger number next year. Harry Goodall was on hand and was most enthusiastic in his desire to have the very best '98 reunion in Hanover in 1935. May we all plan to be there.
