DARTMOUTH CHANGING
April 1931 Craing Thorn, Jr.

In the days when Hanover hibernated in winter, in the days when the track squad used a winter outdoor board track next to the Inn and the Gymnasium was still in the future, in the year 1906, to be more exact, the College built New Hubbard Hall, directly behind the old Administration building and across the road from Middle Massachusetts. Since then Hubbard was moved to a position just north of North Massachusetts. Alumni will remember it as a rather plain-looking box-like affair housing forty students. It has far from harmonized with Dartmouth's new building program and hence is now being torn down and removed, a fate suffered by Sanborn Hall two years ago. Other changes we hope to find within the next few years are the demolition of Crosby Hall, the moving of the White Church and greatest of all the building of the Student Union. Dartmouth's equipment has changed so greatly since we have been in College that we hesitate to predict what the future will offer.
