Webster Thayer was toastmaster at a dinner of the Worcester County Bar Association recently given in honor of the appointment of James C. Donnelly '05 as judge of,the Superior Court of Massachusetts. The Bar Association presented Judge Donnelly with a silk robe, the emblem of his office. Donnelly studied law in Judge Thayer's office, and in introducing him by presenting him to the assembly, Bobby distinguished him by presenting him as "my boy, Jim Donnelly." So Thayer, who made ball players in '76-80, later made judges for the Superior Court, and more recently has made considerable distinguished history.

Charles H. Strout has recently returned to his school work at St. James School, Maryland, after taking a little vacation of eighteen or twenty weeks in Miami, Fla. Strout lends his influence and counsel to his school work a short time each year, but does much of his teaching by absent treatment. Miami, the New York of Florida, is a little rapid for Charles in these latter days, but he likes it.

William Isaac Clarke Smith has been in Clearwater, Fla., most of the winter. He is improving in health, and expects to be as good as new when summer comes. He will return to his home in Harvard, Mass., soon.
