A letter from Prof. George E. Johnson, dated at San Francisco, states that he and Mrs. Johnson had driven up from Los Angeles with Shaw and wife. He had seen Brackett, Winn, and Hardy, and expected to look in on Cleaves, Junkins, Milliken, and Ranlett later. The Johnsons have met a host of friends and some relatives on their western trip, and report a very enjoyable time.
Gardner has returned from his Texas trip in good health and excellent spirits. With headquarters at Dallas, he made side tiips, including one over the border into Mexico, and later motored through Louisiana, Mississippi, and Oklahoma, covering some five thousand miles. He visited his two married daughters in the Lone Star State.
