FEBRUARY 1932 Prof. Nathaniel G. Burleigh

It takes a man from the California Coast to bring us news of our own New England neighbors, but here it is from Art Gray: "I wonder if Hub Pierce's natural modesty

would allow him to tell you that he has just been recommended by the bar of Northern Vermont to the governor of the state for appointment to the Superior Court. He felt it necessary to decline, but the class will be proud to know that one of its members has been so honored.

"A few weeks since we called on Ray Taylor in Calistoga at his delightful ranch there, but were so unfortunate as to find him weekending in Berkeley after one of U. of C.'s football games.

"We are now living at the address shown. I imagine Wee Kimball, who only recently spent an evening with us here, has told you of my new work which has settled us here in 'Sunny' California. We drove out in mid October and thoroughly enjoyed every bit of the trip, except that I had to make too severe a schedule to leave any time for sightseeing.

"If any of the class come this way it will afford us real pleasure to welcome them."

Referring to the above, it may be added that Hub Pierce has been elected vice-president of the Vermont Bar Association for the coming year.

Walt Greenwood has moved his real estate office to 414 Sloan Building, Cleveland, Ohio. Another major change in Cleveland relates to one Carl Hope. Carl is now living at 2151 Elbur Ave., Lakewood, Ohio, while he consults clients at 1401 Midland Bank Building, Cleveland.

Clarence L. Young has moved from Wakefield to Waterbury, Conn., where he is living at 42 Englewood Ave.

Jack Barry is back at his old home in Lawrence, Mass., where he is prepared to attend to the tonsorial wants of all 1911ers.

And now Gabe has become fireman, ac. cording to the Boston Herald.

"Fire, the first one ever at the institution, caused $1000 damage in the basement of the administration building of the Perkins Institution for the Blind, North Beacon St., Watertown, at 5:45 P.M. last night.

"Director Gabriel Farrell discovered the blaze, smelling smoke and then tracing it to the cement furniture storage room, where lumber and furniture to be repaired are stored."
