How times have changed, prices, et cetera. At the Boston Dinner on February 10 at Table #9 were two 1910 men, Allen and Lord, one 1912, Fletch Clark, one 1913, Wilkins(Bill Davis was scheduled to attend and a place was set for him) and Pennell Aborn 1914; not a full table for four classes. Of course, "a lot of us" are in Florida for the winters now.
Bill English's son Robert was a judge at the Housatonic Valley Regional High School chorus auditions held in Rutland in December in connection with the New England Music Festival.

Henry Merrill's son Nat '48 has had fine newspaper publicity lately, well deserved: "The Metropolitan Opera will present a new production of 'L'Elisir d'Amore' next season, according to Rudolf Bing, general manager. It will be the first time the Donizetti work has been heard at the Metropolitan since the season of 1949-50. Fausto Cleva will conduct, and for the first time at the Metropolitan two young Americans will attend to a new production, Mr. Bing also announced. Nathaniel Merrill will be the stage director, and Robert O'Hearn will design sign the settings and costumes.
"Mr. Merrill came to the Metropolitan as assistant stage director in 1955 and was promoted to stage director two years later. A graduate of Dartmouth College, he continued his studies at Boston University and the New England Conservatory of Music. He has served on the faculties of the Berkshire Music Center at Tanglewood and of Boston University. Before joining the Metropolitan Mr. Merrill was assistant stage director at the Hamburg State Opera, the Hessian State Opera in Wiesbaden, and at Glyndebourne. He has had three seasons at the Salzburg Festival and in 1958 was stage director there for the first European performance of Samuel Barber's 'Vanessa.' He has staged a number of productions at Central City. Mr. O'Hearn's Broadway assignments include 'The Relapse' and Maurice Evans' production of 'The Apple Cart.' For the New York City Center he mounted three Shakespeare revivals and for four years was designer for the Brattle Theatre in Cambridge.. Mass. He and Mr. Merrill collaborated on 'Aida,' 'Lucia' and 'Fledermaus' for Central City, Colo. For the Opera Society of Washington, D.C., they produced 'Ariadne auf Naxos,' 'Falstaff,' and Don Giovanni'."
Victor Dunbar has bought a house and adjoining lot on West Lebanon Road, a red house with a white fence. Although in West Leb., he'll have a Hanover telephone number. He and Don will live there moving up this summer. Vic retires in April.
