ED MALING, native o£ Maine, has spent most of his life in the West. Since 1926 he has been with the Ray Maling Packing Company, fruit and vegetables, with head- quarters at Hillsboro, Ore. ABE WINSLOW saw him when he stopped off in San Francisco on his way to take up his duties as Eastern representative. Just where the Malings, including son John, will settle down we do not know.

LYON SOUTHWORTH, long time Needham resident, has become associated with the Cobb Chemical Laboratory of the University of Virginia in the capacity of chemist. This is where classmate RED SMALL rose to fame as an international authority on drug addiction.

We are no longer surprised when we see AL FREY quoted on a marketing problem. He is the author of a widely used textbook on merchandising, and this week we read in Printers' Ink a series of letters with questions on shoe polish written by Al, who in this particular case is the oracle for the entire college, for the headline reads, "What Dartmouth Thinks about Shoe Polish." . . . Well perhaps that isn't quite the wording, but it will serve to identify it for any classmates who are readers.
