Through the kind offices of Mrs. George 15. Fiench, Nashua, N. f J.. your Secretary has learned of an address by Hon. Albert LeRoy Bartlett, former mayor of Haverhill, Mass., and now a member of the Massachusetts legislature. The address was delivered before the Old State House Chapter D. A. R. of Melrose on March 3, 1933' at the home of Mrs. J. Morton DeWolfe. The regent, Mrs. Albert E. Loveless, presided. The address was on "Some Memories of Old Haverhill." Among the memories was one of the speaker's friendship with the poet John G. Whittier, who wrote a poem entitled "Haverhill" for the 250 th anniversary celebration of that city. With a quotation from that poem, Bartlett closed his address.
