The news this month comes from a variety of sources. Special thanks go to Tom English for his welcome letter detailing the activities of classmates. Tom is what's known in the trade as a lifesaver. He reports that Harry Morgan and wife Kate had their first child, Todd Sandford, on February 20, 1975. Todd weighed a full 7 1bs., 1 oz. at birth. Those continuing, as Tom says, "to work on the family plan" include Johnand Karen Caldwell, who now live in Seattle, Wash. Their second child, Aaron Bruce, was born on October 27, 1974, joining his brother Paul, who is supposed to be a big, strong fellow for his age. Tom and Sue Ostermueller's child Amy Rebecca will likely have celebrated her first birthday by the time this article is put into print. Tom and his family are now living in Glen Ellyn, Ill., outside Chicago.

This past May 26 was a happy day in Branford, Conn. Jim Sligar married Diana Sattelberger (Wellesley '74). Tom English evidentally has a long tradition of being in the right place at the right time. He served as best man.

Additional tidbits include the following:

Skip Sturman is working in Rochester, N.Y., accompanied says Tom by the "ever faithful Gaffer, his dog."

Richard and Yvonne Porter are now happy homeowners within the Milwaukee city limits.

Don McAmis has finished his Air Force duties and is now working for the Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C. Also in our Nation's Capital is Gary Ellsworth who is attending law school.

The New York Times continues to be a fertile source of information about members of our class. A careful reading on Sunday, September 7 disclosed that Eldon R. Wallingord III had married Doris Thach. Both Eldon and his wife are third year students at Tuck. It just goes to show you that some of us left Hanover too soon.

Again, not content to wait for all of you to contact me, I started to try to reach some of you by phone, the fastest way I know of these days to go broke. As usual the results were well worth the time and expense. I reached Mark Korotash over in Newtown, Conn. He and his wife of two years, Lynn, have just bought a home there. Mark is practising law in Danbury with the firm of Cutsumpas, Collins, and Hannafin and has busied himself with Dartmouth alumni activities as a member of the board of directors of the Dartmouth Club of Northwestern Connecticut, which covers the Danbury area and north to the Massachusetts border. Those living in the area may want to contact Mark and/or donate some things to the club's "Great Green Tag Sale" planned for the spring.

I located Rich Land about six blocks from my parents' home in Stamford after calling his family's place in Old Greenwich. Rich has settled in Stamford after finishing law school at Emory University in Atlanta. As he said, everything seems to have happened to him all at once. He was married to Cheryl Kitchin on July 14 and started work with Ivey, Barnum, and O'Mara in Greenwich, specializing in trust and estate work. Rich had just found out that he had passed the Conn, bar exam when I spoke with him.

Finally, I should report that CARROLL W. BREWSTER sent a very gracious note expressing his appreciation for our resolution at Reunion thanking him for all of his efforts on our behalf. The message sent to him pursuant to the resolution read as follows:

"Carroll W. Brewster, soon after you were named Dean of the College you made yourself our Dean in accordance with the best of Dartmouth tradition. Your door, both at home and at the office, was open to those who needed aid or counseling. None of us can calculate the number of times your own plans were quietly set aside while you helped with some problem which could not wait. We can only marvel at how you turned initial meetings into very personal conversations leaving those who met you with the feeling that they had been talking with a longtime friend and sponsor.

"It is only fitting that at our Fifth Reunion, as we are just beginning to embark on our various careers, that we express our thanks to you for helping so many of us start toward the goals we are now pursuing. We wish you every success in your new position as President of Hollins College."
