In winning the slalom event, Schroll's combined time for the two runs was 2 minutes 12.3 seconds. Livermore finished second in 2 minutes 25.3 seconds, and Durrance third in 2 minutes 27.2 seconds. A bad spill at the start of his second run cost Durrance valuable seconds and the runner-up position in the slalom event. He covered the igoo-foot course in 1:10.4 anc' 1:16.8, while the times of the Austrian champion were 1:08.2 and 1:04.1.

Prior to the Olympic trials, the Dartmouth team engaged the University of Washington in a dual downhill and slalom meet and won decisively, 200 to 145.7. Durrance won both events, and captured the open slalom from a large field of Olympic contestants. Chivers and Hunter finished second and third in the downhill, with Hunter third and Chivers fourth in the slalom. Woods was sixth and Washburn seventh in the latter event, while their places were eighth and ninth in the downhill.

At the conclusion of the regular ski season, and just before the Dartmouth party set out for Mt. Rainier and the Olympic trials, letters were awarded to eight members of the team. These included Captain Selden J. Hannah '35, Washington, D. C.; William S. Lingley '35, of Hanover; Donald E. Richardson '35, of Wakefield, Mass.; A. Lincoln Washburn '35, of Hanover; Andrew A. Titcomb '36, of Farmington, Me.; Henry S. Woods '36, of Hanover; Warren H. Chivers '37, of Hanover; and Edgar H. Hunter Jr. '37, of Hanover.

Four freshman members of Dartmouth's championship team were awarded numerals, including David J. Bradley, of Madison, Wis.; Roy B. Chamberlin Jr., of Hanover; Richard H. Durrance, of Miami, Fla.: and Edward B. Meservey, of Hanover.

The letter-winners and Durrance participated in the Intercollegiate Ski Union championships at Quebec and were responsible for the numerous victories of the varsity team, including the Massachusetts Downhill Championships, the Mt. Mansfield Carnival, the Hochgebirge Challenge Cup Races on Taft Trail, the President Harding trophy in the Lake Placid intercollegiate meet, the Nansen Ski Club meet, and several events in the international meet at Toronto. Chamberlin and Meservey turned in creditable performances for Team B, enabling that group to win the Middlebury Carnival and place second to the New Hampshire varsity in the Williams College meet.

Third-class runners on Teams B and C also did their share to enhance Dartmouth's skiing reputation by carrying off honors in the North Woodstock Downhill Race, the Nansen Snowfest third-class race, the New Hampshire third-class downhill championships, and the third-class Eastern Downhill Championships at Laconia.
