The snow sculpture was good, as good as it has ever been. We doubt if there is a place in the world where snow and ice sculpture is carried to such a degree of perfection as it is at the Dartmouth Winter Carnival. The winning fraternity carving, an Alaskan sleigh and husky team, was done with an astonishing and minute realism. The dormitory prize-winner, "The Great White Cold Walks Abroad," though not displaying quite as excellent technique,# represented real creative art.

Furnishing the focal point for the forty or more scattered pieces of sculpture was Art Funk's "Dartmouth Undying" in the center of the campus. This interpretation of the typical Dartmouth man with sweater and books was skilfully executed and popularly received. Some year we should like to see the typical ski-suited Carnival girl on the pedestal.

The second big event of the month was Dartmouth Night on February 14, preceded by the rededication of Dartmouth Hall, but this we shall leave to another department.
