The postal card replies to our call for an expression of opinion on the 100% subscription plan included nearly all the Class and brought all sorts of opinions. There were not enough in favor to make it feasible for us to put the plan in effect so it's a case of "as we were."
Quite unexpectedly your secretary turned up in Center Harbor, New Hampshire for a stay of two weeks in July. He was rewarded (over and above the enjoyment of the beautiful lake and country) with some '92 contacts.
One Saturday evening a Ford truck drew up before the Hotel and Charlie Lamprey debarked and came in on an errand with the proprietor. We had a delightful hour with him in which he told us of his work as special advisor in several camps in the Winnepesaukee region. It is surely a delight to find a man who is able to do what is absolutely the thing he most loves to do—and something that is so worthwhile—opening the eyes of these youngsters to the wonders and beauty of the world they live in.
Then we met Mrs. Libby and found she had a camp on the Lake not far from us. We called there later and had an enjoy able visit with her and Edward who is certainly a chip of the old block. Mary Louise came back from a drive just as we were leaving so we did not have much time with her, unfortunately. She has been doing some special work in modern languages at Harvard which seems to be gilding the lily, as she has had practically all the credits and degrees that are available in that field.
Please be sure and send news of your doings that can be used in these notes. If you are going south or west this winter let me know where and when. A get together with other travelers may be possible.
