Two NEW COURSES for the academic year 1940-41 were listed in the Announcement of Courses bulletin distributed among undergraduates just before the spring vacation. Both semester courses, they are History 20, the history of Canada, taught by Prof. Wayne E. Stevens, and Psychology 10, scientific foundations of psychology, taught by Prof. Charles L. Stone '17.

Of special interest in the bulletin was the announcement that Dr. Willis M. Rayton will take over next fall as the instructor in Physics 3-4, the course taught for some 40 years by Prof. Gordon Ferrie Hull, who retires at the end of the present academic year. Three new majors to be inaugurated next fall are also listed in the bulletin. They include the combined Tuck School-Thayer School major, the new major in actuarial mathematics, and the new Education major entitled "Preparation for Secondary School Teaching."

The new history course will deal with aspects of Canadian development of special interest to the American student, with emphasis on relations with this country and on the role of Canada in the British Empire. The new psychology course, in striking departure from the customary sociological approach to psychology, will deal with the physiological foundations of human behavior.
