It is almost the eve of the Lake Morey weekend as we record the items of interest which have come to our attention. Both Stan Butts and your secretary appreciate receiving news from so many classmates. Butts will cover the weekend in the next issue of the "24-Hour Notice."

Doug Graham recently made a two-week trip to Europe in company with other members of the New Jersey Cultural Group; the itinerary ineluded London, Milan, Switzerland, and Holland. Phil and Jane Morse have returned to Florida after enjoying the summer in Warren, N.H., where they were busy with the Morse Museum. As usual, the museum attracted many visitors in spite of the gas problems affecting all of us in the Northeast. The Herb Kaisers took a trip to Dallas, where they enjoyed the opera, and then went on to Acapulco and Mexico City. They plan on a trip to the Orient in the spring.

Jimmie Reid's latest report is that he fell and broke his thumb (a good excuse for missing putts!). Ralph Stuart reports on a mini-reunion that included the Stuarts, Norm and ClaireEverett, Marion Letteney (widow of Russ), Fred Reed '23, and Paul and Eleanor Reed '25.

Kay Stilling and his wife were recently involved in an automobile accident, but have now recovered from their injuries.

As of September, Hal and Julie Brandt were about to leave for Florida to spend the winter there. And further, with regard to Florida, MikeBranch reports that they had their house in Lake Worth boarded up in preparation for "David," which actually was not much of a storm. However, it brought back memories of 20 years ago when he was the local disaster leader.

The Bents had a surprise visit in August from Kay Spaulding, who was spending a few days on the Cape with several friends. We were interested to hear the details of her trip to Paris to visit her daughter and family. It is always good to see Kay and good to remember all that she and Spud have done for the class over the years. (Sadly, just after this was written, word was received of Kay's death. Her passing is indeed a loss for the class.)

Pete Wheatley came in for more kudos as the guest of honor at a party given by the directors and officers of the Abington National Bank, which he served as president from 1956 to 1978 and as a director since 1936. He was presented with a silver tray.

Beatie Adams has done a great deal for the class. Here is a chance to do something for Beatie. She would like to acquire recordings of the Glee Club during our years in college, when Jeff was a member. If anyone has records which they would be willing to give to Beatie, please contact her or the secretary.

Our sympathy goes to Arland Schoonmaker on the loss of his wife Gwen. We will have missed them both at the fall party.

Ed Howe expresses regret at missing the 55th but is still alive and well.

A newsy letter came from Dick Countryman. In the spring, he and his wife completed a trip around the world, stopping in Saudi Arabia, where his stepson has been located for three years. From there, they went to India, Bankok, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Hawaii. Dick is still in active practice and also regrets missing the 55th.

And we also received regrets from Larry Fishbein on his inability to make the reunion. The distance from Florida to Hanover seems to be getting longer every year for our Florida classmates — just as the hills are getting steeper.
