THE STATE ASSOCIATION extends a cordial invitation to all Dartmouth men to be present at their annual dinner meeting to be held this year at the Farmington Country Club under the auspices of the Hartford Club on May 23. Golf in the afternoon, extra curricular activities before dinner, a hearty meal and good fellowship is all the advertising the Dartmouth clan requires. Add to this Dean Bill as the principal speaker with Lou Young Jr. '41 also present to give us a preview of the season's football prospects plus the probable presence of the bulky Mr. Bill Cunningham to regale us from his store of Dartmouth lore and the event becomes a must for all in whom a spark remains.
The Naugatuck Valley Club gathered on April 25 for a monthly meeting which was addressed by John T. Reardon '14, Head of the History Department of Taft School, who did his best to educate the group on what is going on in the world.
The Bridgeport group gathered for supper at the University Club on April 24 and heard Mr. Moss, an export official of Remington Rand Company Inc., discuss interesting sidelights on the customs of out-of-the-way places on the world's map. Sometimes we thought he was talking about Hanover.
New Haven had a most successful dinner meeting on May 4 with wives and friends included. It is being said that this rugged band of Dartmouth individuals, in a foreign land as it were, is gradually succumbing to the influence of one of the institutions of higher learning which is located in their city as is evidenced by the number of get-togethers at which the fair sex predominates. Perhaps the tendency represents the "fifth column" to blitzkreig Dartmouth out of the hairy-chested, redblooded classification and we may yet see the day when squaws are welcomed tuition free to the Hanover tepee.
