Alaska seems to be growing in popularity with '99ers as the Walter Eastmans and the Leon Woodmans were there during the summer vacation. The Eastmans were entertained by Bones and Mrs. Woodward at their country estate on Lake Washington. As several '99ers have been to Alaska beginning with Frank Staly and Montie Fuller who were real "sour doughs" the Secretary would like a report of all who have been there and perhaps a '99 Alaska club might be formed.
Mr. Justice Charles H. Donahue, senior member of the Supreme Court of Massachusetts, Judge Nelson P. Brown, senior member of the Superior Court and District Attorney, Owen A. Hoban were among the members of the Massachusetts judiciary participating in the first "Red Mass" celebrated in Massachusetts at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Boston. The "Red Mass" is an ancient European institution asking for divine blessing upon those in authority dispensing justice. It got its name from the rich red decorations of the high altar and the red gowns worn by the high members of Foreign Courts.
