BRUCE TAYLOR CUNNINGHAM '43, son of Bruce Thomas Cunningham '22, died early Saturday morning, November 8, at Dick's House, from internal injuries received in an automobile accident two nights earlier. The funeral services were held in Trenton, N. J., Tuesday, November 11. He is survived by his parents and his sister, Frances, who were with him at his death.
The accident occurred about 11 o'clock Thursday night at the Wilder turn on the West Lebanon Road. Bruce, who was returning from White River Junction with his roommate, was blinded by the headlights of a passing car and struck the cable guard rail. His car went out of control and he was thrown out. His roommate, who managed to remain in the car, received only minor bruises. Taken to Dick's House by a passing motorist, he received six blood transfusions from classmates who lived in Ripley Hall with him and from Jack Durrance '41, medical student.
Bruce, who lived in Deal, N. J., was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on November 2, 1921. He was a graduate of Pennington School, Pennington, N. J., and played soccer his freshman year in Hanover.
