During the past several months we've been doing a little research about the members of the class. During the summer, a comparatively high draft number permitting, we hope to continue same with the possible prospect of reporting back to you next fall various statistics about Mortimer Middlemass, Mr. and his fellows. Do we favor blonds, and marry brunettes, have 3.2 children and like 6.0 beer, or vice versa? At present writing the only record sufficiently complete to warrant publication is the following list of alumni activity on the part of 1935s across the country, gleaned from deep readings in the bound volumes of this journal and other records. If we've missed anyone of prominence, we'll repair the oversight at a later date.

DETROIT must be quite partial to our boys, for Dave Williams has just succeeded Bud Hulett as president of the Dartmouth Club of Detroit.

BRIDGEPORT will send Friar Naramore as their representative to the Secretaries Meeting in Hanover this June, adding to our anticipation of that conclave.

WELLESLEY features Dick Muzzy as their Secretary these past two years, he having previously served on their Executive Committee.

ALBANY Dartmouth Club lists DougHamilton as their vice president, and DonAlexander holds a similar post with the NASHUA Alumni Club, where GeneBurnkrant is also active.

Out in ROCHESTER, MINNESOTA, genial Bill Harwich handles meeting arrangements for the D.A.C. of the Northwest, with Bob Stone acting as Treasurer of the ST. PAUL branch of the same association. Bobb Chaney also serves. Gardiner Spring, in Syracuse, is secretary of the D. C. of CENTRAL NEW YORK.

Rey Moulton is secretary of the A.A. of MAINE, operating out of Portland.

Down in BALTIMORE we find HallColtcm is a former secretary of that club, with Art Flinner having served as treasurer and later vice-president before leaving for military service.

Ted Harbaugh did yoeman work as secretary of the TOLEDO outfit.

Russ Field is President of the SCHENECTADY group.

The D.O.C. of NEW YORK is presided over by Bleeker Ripsom, with Al Conklin a veteran winner of Club ChampionshipSlaloms. Al and Hal Ritter earn old-timer status as roomers in the DARTMOUTH CLUB OF N. Y., of which Walt Gless is Treasurer.

Dick Howell is secretary of the D. C of GEORGIA.

Boyd Rogers is vice-president of the ST. LOUIS benefit society, and it seems to be just that for 1935, what with Frank Cornwell being a former president, Jim Alfring,Harry Deckert, and others passing the honors around quite frequently. Personally we're not going to feel that our class has really had its inning out there until Kid Kerwin, whom St. Louisans call "Mr.Tomato" after the little top-hatted fellow on Heinz katsup bottles,—until the Kid has achieved his rightful spot as Master ofthe Hunt. Yoiks, yoiks.

Cramp Carrick, formerly president of the CHESHIRE COUNTY (N. H.) D.A.A., might consider setting up an association in his present position with the 181 st Infantry at Camp Edwards, Mass.

CHICAGO stands comparatively high on the roster with Frank Wright on the club squash team, Harry Foreman winning both the 1939 and 1940 President's Trophy at the annual club golf party, and with Hugh Wolff and Dave Gallagher joining into other activities. What ever became of Fairweather and/or Kreerf

Rudy Pacht acts as ass't scribe for the good-sized SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA Club. Out in HAWAII our barefooted dropkicking friend Pug Atherton and his neighbor Fran Bartlett are active in the insular association.

Nearer home, tho' still considerably in the offing, Dave Smith acts as able ass't to Abe Winslow, veteran sec'y of the D.C. of N. California and aids in the editing of the renown Squeaks from the GoldenGate, when he isn't off in the Sierras with Gahagan, Karlen, and Ellis running the directorate of the D.O.C. OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA.

Chuck Brown has acquired considerable acclaim as official photographer for the Dartmouth Club of Pittsburgh. JohnnyMullen is active in the EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA outfit, with Johnny Lyon and Ed Elsenhans sharing honors in the bunch over in CENTRAL PENN.

DARTMOUTH-IN-DIXIE is actively supported by Fred Cushing and BunnyDeutsch.

Jim Berkey, Brad Reeves and LowellHaas aid in promoting activities of the D.C. of WASHINGTON, D. C„ while Fred Haley and Norm Henshaw wield considerable influence in the affairs of the D.C. of the STATE OF WASHINGTON.

Out here in the DARTMOUTH CLUB OF CENTRAL OHIO ("We Bostonianspronounce it Ioway!") Jim Dickinson presides over the committee interviewing freshman applicants in Dayton, Ed Williams gets down from Newark, and CyFulton runs up from Lancaster, with EdHinman, being on the scene in Columbus, active as ever.

What Johnny Bell does for the HOUSTON group is emulated by Frank Meyers with the DALLAS alumni contingent, and we understand that Ray Schear was quite active in the LOUISIANA club while interning at New Orleans Charity.

Harry Miller serves on the Executive Committee of the LONG ISLAND Club, and Ive Bash is the present treasurer of the CENTRAL NEW JERSEY association.

Appropriately enough, Lew Cole is active in alumni affairs in LOUISVILLE, and we understand that whenever AI Ochsner isn't busy doctoring he is cogitating over some new type of party for the DARTMOUTH CLUB OF VIRGINIA.

The BOSTON group have twice honored Gard Cushman with reelection to the Executive Committee of their club, the D.O.C. of Boston keeps Dick Muzzy (already mentioned) on their council, and the NORTH SHORE (MASS.) club activities consume the energies of Cal Wright and Art Somers.

Down in JACKSONVILLE we find '35 represented in Dartmouth Club activities by Dick Millard, and out in INDIANAPOLIS is Earl Arthurs.

Here in CLEVELAND your scribe has collaborated with Dan Swander in many of the local activities, while Dave Johnson makes sure the annual Eleazar Wheelock party is a success by keeping Bill Hawgood,Jack Steffins, and some of the rest of us out all night following that occasion. He's good at it.

Looking over the above listing we think the boys are doing right well. With your help, we'll be back next fall with some vital statistics.

SIGNING OFF

Dud Russell and Bette Miller make it final on June aist. .. .that old ladies' man, our erstwhile class prexy, has come up to standard again with another daughter Linda Eames Hagerman.... following a June 12th wedding Sven Karlen will take bride Tommy Booth back to San Francisco via the Panama Canal.... our very alert contemporary, the Syracuse Post-Standard carried an Easter morning picture of GardSpring and wife. .. .we knew we couldn't trust Jerry Spingam spying around New York courthouses and seeing nothing more than Bob Ferry, so now we're relieved to know that he's moved to Washington to work for the General Counsel of the Railroad Retirement Board, which sounds like working for a General and liking it. . . . Bill Mann presided at the piano at the annual dinner of the D.C. of N. Calif., the report of which reads like good fun all around The latest issue of the ExeterAlumni Bulletin features an article by their distinguished coach and churchwarden, Bill Clark, which we're sure is one of those old Exeter themes said coach used to rewrite for English 61; this last jibe being our way of getting even with anyone who'll adopt a kitten, tell us she's temperamental and tigerish, and then name her "Gilly" after us. Et tu Brute!

LOST SOULS

Has anyone seen or heard anything of Deacon Nevin, the sage of South School Street, or of Duke Maxwell, the diminutive dynamo of Dick's House.... or Les Greene, or Halsey Loder, Bob Williams, Bob Denham, Jack Kingery, Ben Kuhns, RogeSheets, Sid Simons, Fran O'Leary, BobRounsavall, Ray Morgan, Ed Ramsey,Wally Gage and the host of others who haven't checked in during the past few years?

Generalissimo Hage reports an optimistic turn of events as checks, odd buttons, horse-car transfer tallies, nickels, dimes, pennies, and just-slightly-used Willkie pins come trickling into the campaign coffers of the you know what campaign. Bob melts them down, journal entries them, and (we trust) the result will gratify us all. If you're not among us yet, make tonight the night you gave a tangible expression to your feeling for DartmouthCollege.

Meanwhile we reach for a brew and relax. . . .beam. .. .and gloat: nary a deadline 'till Labor Day. Good fishing,.... we'll see you then.
