The Commencement period of 1942 marked the Goth anniversary of the class of 1882. Four of the ten living members of the class live in New England, and two of these, living in Massachusetts, Coburn of Turners Falls, and Kelly of Brookline, were the only ones to celebrate the anniversary in Hanover.
With no one else apparently available to succeed Luques as secretary, and matters of importance demanding attention, the secretaryship devolved upon the latter, who, on taking up the duties in Hanover learned for the first time what an extensive system of cooperation and coordination has been built up between the College and the class officers, secretaries, treasurers and agents.
There has been very little news of individual members submitted; Webster in Chicago did not summer at his place on the Cape, but spent some time at a hotel in Evanston. The living members of the class are well scattered. Besides those mentioned there are DeWitt in Texas, Parker in Wyoming, Comer and Quimby in Philadel- phia, Partridge in New York City (just now scouring New England for yellow birch timber), Lawrence in Connecticut, and Frame in New Hampshire. There are two non-graduates living, Gardner in San Francisco, and Faulkner in New Hampshire. We have made an elfor to get 100% subscription to the DARTMOUTH ALUMNI MAGAZINE, that each one may maintain more intimate connection with the College and its activities. Several so far have not responded yes or no, and they are certainly not in the service.
