The Malone Evening Telegram of July 29 gives an interesting account of Lt. Comd. Wallace C. Short Jr., and his work at Pearl Harbor and Midway. Now commanding a dive bombing squadron, his exploits have become almost legendary in the Pacific, and a large number of Japanese ships are credited to his squadron.
