FALL IS HERE AGAIN and that means that Dartmouth-in-Washington is starting another year of activity and fellowship. So if you are one of the many newcomers to the Capital City, "Welcome to Washington!" If you want to get started on the right foot call the Secretary, Larry Reeves, at MEtropolitan 1030 and get your name and address on the mailing list and get the names of your classmates in town. Here are some of the events on the "First Semester" calendar:
First of all we have a luncheon every Tuesday at 12:30 at the Annapolis Hotel. On every third Tuesday in the month we have a guest speaker, and this fall there will be special class luncheons. The news from Hanover is received via "The Daily Dartmouth."
The first big "special event" of the season will be Dartmouth Night. Paul Woodbridge '29 is in charge of this event and he promises to have a fine program and dinner for us on this occasion—so don't miss it!
For athletic activity in the Fall and Winter, we have a bowling team which for the past two years has won the Championship of the Intercollegiate League, so if you can keep the ball on the alley, come on and sign up.
The joint lunch with the Cornells is always a grand party regardless of the outcome of the game, and, of course, at Christmas time we have the annual luncheon for the undergrads and really get the dope from school first hand.
All this and many other features folks, so be sure and get on the mailing list! The summer season has been a very enjoyable one. Attendance has held up very well at the Tuesday luncheons, and our soft ball team, under the managership of Stirling Wilson '16 has performed valiantly nearly every Sunday and the boys have had a lot of fun even if the championship did elude them. Lt. Commander John Chipman '19 gave us an interesting talk on his, visit to Hanover to visit the Naval Officers' School.
Some new faces at the Annapolis recently "Chuc" Sears '19, "Reds" Kerlin '21, George Stone '30, Ray Smith '18, Dave Castlement '32, Tom Moran '32, Tom Lane '35, Bill Fenton '30, Jack Slattery '38, Henry Stein '29 and Frank Bailey '26.
