By this time you've gotten Ensign Mattimore's request for class dues, and if you haven't already done it, please send it in. We want to renew our subscription to the MAGAZINE with everyone getting it.

There was an interesting article in the papers about Captain Harry Connor. He was in the storming of Tulagi, and last re- port had him at Guadalcanal. Said he saw Gil Small there. Roy Block has hit the seas, too, with a Quartermaster battalion. Par- ker Brownell is with the Alien Enemy Con- trol Unit of the Dept. of Justice. Bill Den- nen is an interne at the Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. And speaking of hospitals and miracles, Sheriff Gordon found himself a wife. That leaves Reno as chief Strikeout King Without Competition. Ons is an interne at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa. The unlucky girl is Mildred Gustafson of Cleveland and the U. of Minnesota. What a life to look for- ward to. What are you laughing about, Mosenthal? You don't think your wife did any better, do you? Mose took off his sweater long enough on the Bth of August to marry Marie Hastings, and if that isn't a tough break, I don't know what is. I don't know how some people can go through life with some people. Eric Vaughan is doing some research in elec- trical engineering at Ohio State. Ed Shu- maker is now a captain in Armored Force Headquarters. Les Rockwell is Clerk of the Works at Delaware 8c Hudson R. R. in North Creek, N. Y. Have you got your rock with you? Fred Seaver is with Rohr Aircraft in California.

Ev Dearman, Army Air Corps, married Constance Fleming, New York, on Sept. 12. Wade Gayer, attorney in Fulton, N. Y., was engaged to Marie-Louise Cauchois, Skidmore. That girl that Jim Cooney mar- ried was Helen Anderson of Chicago. War- ren King married the Navy in July when he got his Ensign's commission. He was as- signed to the air base at Memphis as a physical instructor. Nancy Lee Keith and Dutch Holland were engaged, and still are, I guess. She's a Bennington, and a thespian too. Lieut. Roland Jones, A.G.0., and Nancy Gibb, Haverford, Pa., were married October 17th. That's terrific for me. I'm usually about three months behind. As a matter of fact, it's only Oct. 5 when I'm writing this. Bill Roby and Dorothy John- son were married in Chicago on August 6th. I should have said Ensign Roby. Speaking of which, handsome Fred Wag- ner, not quite as handsome, is an Ensign by now, and the way he keeps track of en- gagements, he shouldn't even make a good yeoman. Fred Seaver married the flash of San Diego, Betty Carringer, on July 17. Did you know that Roily Jones was a mem- ber of the young suburban smart set? The newspaper says so. Ensign Dick Nelson is engaged to Ruth Bundy of Maywood, N. J. Terry Hollern is engaged to Barbara Jones of Seattle. Lieut. Frank Doane and Ann Bailey of Northampton plan to be married in November. It looks good. Lieut. Dick Stoughton is at Camp Stewart, instructing in coast artillery, and acting as a personnel adjutant. Dr. John Godfrey is interning at Mary Hitchcock. Jack Huck is getting his commission at Aberdeen. He's been work- ing on his Ph.D. at Chicago. After 8 months' service in Iceland, Captain Bill Chamberlin is at Camp Elliot, Calif., with wife and son Henry. Jack Scarborough, a husband a year, is an aeronautical engi- neer with Douglas Aircraft. Jack Clarke is interning at the Buffalo General Hospital. Dick Higbee is in Ordnance at Ft. Totten. Lieut. Elliot Herrick is at Camp Crowder. Captain Tom Richmond led a company in the taking of the Solomon Islands. Betsy and Ed Griffing announce the arrival of 6 lb. 9 oz. Mary Elizabeth on August 13. They're living in Toledo, where Ed is with Owens-Corning. Reno is back in Washing- ton sleeping with seven other guys in a bed. That's better than a lot of Washington people can do, and he's complaining. Still single, though, he says, as if we didn't know. Gall's all right in a bladder.

That clinches the news for this month. I'm sorry I can't see all your babies, be- cause I'd probably have nice things to say about them. But I did see Calder's, and it, or she, is terrific. What a baby. It's better than you could buy.
