SERVICE: Because of the very nature of the war effort most of the stations of the boys as listed below have undoubtedly changed since I have learned of their location, and the movement has been so fast in many instances that I never have caught up with them, so only the branch of service is shown. 1940 is training all over the 48 States, and fighting on world-wide frontsthese facts are evidenced by the partial listing of those in the service. At the U. S. Naval Air Station at Corpus Christi, Texas, are Bill Squier and Cal Bowie-, they are in advanced training, after having started at the center at Jacksonville, Florida, with Gerry Sullivan and Roy Merchant. FredEaton is a 1st Lt. in Army Air Corps, in charge of a flying fortress at a place outside the Continental U. S. Ensign Lee Brekke was last at Ft. Schuyler in NYC, with WillPitz. Ensign Jim Ruch, with wife Jane, in Albany, N. Y. at Naval Recruiting Station. Lt. Jim Tredup, elected to the Editorial Board of the Yale Law Journal just before leaving for the Marine Barracks in Philadelphia, is at Basic School, and with him is Don McCaffrey. Also stationed in Philly are Ensigns Bruce Espy and Chet Bensinger. 2nd Lt. Bill Daniels is forecasting weather for the Air Corps in the cold country of Maine. Stu MacPhail is training for flight engineering in Cal. at United's Boeing school; Stu writes that his last report on Ave Maxson was that he was teaching History to the lads on the USS Quincy. C. are BillPellington and Steve Graydon; Phil Dostal as a communications officer in the Navy Dept.; 800 Hayden and Rick Davidson in the production end of the Bureau of Aeronautics; Bob Clark as Supply Officer at the Navy Yard; and Bill Shelton, who is with the Board of Economic Welfare, on detail from the Navy Dept. 2nd Lt. Bob Raclin and wife Jean are at Camp Elliot in San Diego, as Bob is on manoeuvers as a platoon leader with the Fleet Marine Force. My New York informant, Tom George, includes in a most newsy letter the belief that Ted Gates and Dyke Krolik plan to go to the Air Corps' school for Communications officers. Lee Bassett is at Fort Ord, Cal., with the 107 th Horse-Mechz. 2nd Lt. Jay Stout is an instructor of advanced fly- ing at Craig Field, Ala.
