To HENRY D. CROWLEY '98 the Committee is thankful for his stepping in at the last moment during the illness of Mr. Carney to conduct such a successful campaign in 1898.

To WILLIAM L. CLEAVES '16, appreciation on behalf of ourselves and predecessor Fund Committees for his five years of steadily increasing success as class agent.

To ORTON H. HICKS '21, a word of admiring and grateful appreciation for a six-year accomplishment which touched many high spots, established a number of records and ended with the 1941 campaign in a resplendent blaze of glory: the longest roster of contributors in the history of the class and a dollar percentage that was 70% higher than the previous high record ever obtained by this class in twenty years.

To WARD H. HILTON '23, who helped his class along the upward path as head agent in '37 and during the four succeeding years has been an important factor in keeping this class moving steadily upward to its fine 1941 level of accomplishment, the thanks of this Committee which had the pleasure of association with him during the 1941 campaign.

To PAUL R. KRUMING '28, who has had two successive years with 100% of contributors in a large class and has increased the dollar total of his class during two years of excellent service, our regret over losing his help in the Fund effort.

CRAIG THORN JR. '31 retires after ten years of the most consistently good and cumulatively successful results in Alumni Fund annals for classes in the difficult first decade out of College. He has made many fine contributions to Alumni Fund procedures developing the participation of the youngest classes which has made it possible for the Fund to set its new records.

The desire to serve the country in war time has taken from us three of our successful youngest agents as this goes to press. These are ROBERT K. HAGE '35, who in his first year as agent has turned in one of our outstanding performances of any unusual year; MORTIMER BERKOWITZ JR. '37, who blazed new trails of accomplishment for a class in its first year out of College and during the three succeeding years went on to bigger and better things; and ERNEST R. BREECH JR. '40, who departed for the army air corps very soon after launching his class auspiciously on its career of alumni service.
