As I write these notes word comes to me that on February 4, Wiswall, our oldest '86 man, passed on. In the January MAGAZINE we read his last words to us: "I thank God for his faithful care of me for nearly six years that has kept me free from pain." Every '86 man has always had a warm place in his heart for Wizzy. The April MAGA- ZINE will have a few words about his life. He leaves two brothers, Orrin and Frank in Marlboro, N. H.

Tommy Harris was transferred, January 20, to the Veteran's Administration Facility Hospital, Northport, Long Island. "Not much change in his condition," by his doctor at that time. Billie Newton writes that he has disposed of his "household effects," placed his house on sale, and, on February 1, took up his residence with William Carroll Hill, Dartmouth '02, at 321 Aubumdale Ave., Aubumdale, Mass., Telephone LASell 4884. He says "I received a hearty welcome when I moved in February. Besides Mr. and Mrs. Hill, the family consists of Mr. Hill's mother, a daughter Barbara, away at college, and a son Robert, Dartmouth '42, now in aviation."

A letter from Eleanor Ransom Mayhew, daughter of Eliza Taylor Ransom, M.D., says, "Mother has been appointed to the Medical Corps of Santa Monica Civilian Defense, the only woman'on this Corps, I believe. She is already saying 'we Californians' instead of 'the Californians.' Her address is 107 V 2 Broadway, Santa Monica, Calif."

In these war days we frequently read of the marriage of girls to our young Army men. Leslie Snow, 46 University Court, South Orange, N. J,, sends a newspaper clipping telling us of such a marriage. His daughter, Miss Shirley Snow, was married to Douglas K. Blue, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest W. Blue, Poland, N. Y., on January 20. The Misses Janet and Elizabeth Snow were their sister's attendants. Cadet Robert Blake of Boise, Idaho, was best man.

After a wedding trip, Mrs. Blue will complete her senior year at Stephens College, Columbia, Mo. Lt. Blue is a graduate of Union College, Class of '39, a January, 1943 graduate from the United States Military Academy at West Point and is now commissioned in the Corps of Engineers. He will continue training at Fort Belvoir, Va. Leslie says that his mother, and also his brother, Colonel Conrad Snow and family were present at the wedding.

May the days of peace soon permit all these young husbands and wives to live together in their own home.
