Our memories of Boston locale are too meagre to aid us with any degree of certainty. . . ..

And those who managed a promotion, not necessarily with a change of address: Lts. (jg) Jim LeSure, Dud Russell, Jim West, Jerry Davis, FrankAllen, Ed Harvey, Paul Hilli, Elias Sousane and Howie Frost; Lt. Fritz Beebe, Capt. DickSchneider, Major Dave Gallagher, 2nd Lts. HerbOstrow and Bo Kreer, and Lt. Cmdr. Harold Orenstein. Jerry Spin gam was an ensign when he married. Natalie Miller Davis, daughter of the Aaron Wise Davises, in New Rochelle on 14 June last, and has since been upped to lieutenant (jg). Johnny Bell has moved up from jg to a senior lieutenant in his position as Officer-in-Charge of the Scout and Raider School at the Naval Amphibious Training Base at Fort Pierce, Florida. He saw action in the first North African invasion and was awarded the Navy Cross for his "extraordinary performance of duty." Frank Adams has been promoted to captain and is now stationed at Selman Field, Monroe, La., whose Chamber of Commerce is justly proud of harboring the largest aerial navigation school in the AAF training command.

ODDS AND ENDS ... ...

Lt. Dick Hurd did some unusual cross-country shuttling a few months when he left Florida for the West Coast, where he was to teach gunnery at Las Vegas, but almost immediately upon his arrival there was ordered back to Florida, leaving before he had even had a chance to unpack his gear. We are given to understand that he is over- seas by now, however.

Lt. Bill Wilks is over in Oran, Algeria, and we'll send his Fleet Post Office address to anyone who requests it. Last time we saw the Wilk he was. merely an ensign changing trains in Albany in the Spring of '42, which is progress for you.

Sven Karl en Jr. will be one year old this September 16, as will Bob McLellan's son Donald Edward, on 17 December, while the Wiley Hubbell's Cynthia passed the one year mark on 29 August.

Newer arrivals include the Reg Bankarfs second daughter, Marilyn, born on 2 July last, a day- we'll not soon forget. Reg and I had spent Sunday- together out in his section of suburban Virginia,, and had just returned from a bit of a stroll during, which we called on the absent Bill Russells; when a call from Boston brought home the news of Marilyn's arrival. We haven't any similar means, of cataloging the birth of Ruth and Landon Rock-well's daughter this past summer, but we've a hunch it was about the 14th of July. Rocky was, on leave when we called to check it.

At last report Charlie Schwalm was an ensign; out on sea duty, with his address: 320 Rentschler- Bldg,, Hamilton, Ohio.

CLIPPINGS ... ......

Able "Abe" Winslow, famed secretary of the Dartmouth Association of Northern California, has. sent us a clipping from the San Francisco Chronicle which supplements our comment regarding; Gahagan's new address: "The OWI's Bill Gahagan has just moved his home and family from Berkeley to Woodside. In a curious coincidence, his new telephone number is 495, the same phone number his parents have had at their Goshen, N. Y., home for the past 18 years."

From the Detroit News, as of 3 July 1944:

"Thomas E. Wilson, of Birmingham, son of G. E. Wilson, president of General Motors Corp.,. has been appointed Director of Industrial Relations for the company's truck and coach division.. Wilson, a graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Michigan, has been connected with General Motors since 1942. He formerly practiced law in Detroit, specializing in labor relations."

Captain Dick Potter's present address can behad by writing to me or the Record's office in Hanover; as can Ed Keane's.

LOCAL CHIT-CHAT ... ......

We ran into Ensign Doug Ley over at the AlliesInn here in Washington awhile ago .... someone tells us that Bill Mathers is in town also and that Jim Berkey has pulled out.

It has been suggested that 1935-in-Washington assemble for a few curtain-raisers before the local" DARTMOUTH NIGHT celebration at the Willard Hotel on November Tenth. This strikes us as. a singularly happy thought, so much so in fact,, and because said celebration falls on our birthday, we herewith offer to buy a short one or a long one for each member of the class who shows up. Call us at REpublic 7400, extension 63904 or 4787' to name your poison and learn where to collect it.

Seems to me it has been many a month since- we've had a picture inserted here. Granted that for many of you who are overseas and/or in combat zones the taking of pictures may be a thing of the past or an infrequent occurrence, but see if you can't dig up a few. Might as well let posterity see us in khaki or blue, for the glamor will fade with the return of the mufti eighteen or twenty- four months from now. If McCariy can grace our boards in a sarong and accompanied by a South Sea Island chieftain spearing octupi, some of the rest of you ought to be able to route us a picture- of an English pub, a French chateau, an Italian, villa, an aborigine hut, Diamond Head, or something of equal interest as background for a shot of yourself "over there."
