For some reason unknown to me, a number of items have been sent to me. Most involve promotion in the workplace for '66ers.

George Trumbull has been appointed executive vice president of CIGNA Corporation and chief operating officer of the corporation's newly expanded Investment Group. George will be responsible for overall management and direction of CIGNA's investments and pension operation. Phew. It is expected that George will become president of the Investment Group this summer when the boss there retires. George has directed the pension division since 1985. George and Lynda live in West Simsbury, Conn.

D. Bruce Thorsen has been appointed to the position of vice president, corporate finance, in the Northeastern regional office of Prudential Capital Corporation in Boston. Bruce was previously director of new business development for the Gillette Company. Bruce, wife, and three wee ones live in Weston, Mass.

John Q. Arnold has been elected senior vice president and deputy chief credit officer of Harris Bank, Chicago. John has been with Harris since 1967. John and family live in Glen view, 111.

Noel Fidel took a seat on the Arizona Court of Appeals after serving for five years on the Maricopa County Superior Court. Governor Bruce Babbitt appointed Noel to the job, shortly before he left office to pursue his candidacy for the Presidency. One of Noel's first duties on the new bench was to announce the birth of the Fidels' third child, Alexander. Wife Anne, Nathan 7 and Louis 6 all live in Phoenix.

George Blumenthal writes that he, FredGordon, Don Cohn '65, and Chris Chesser '70 attended the wedding of Mike Phillips '65, in Bel Air, Calif. Mike produced TheSting and Close Encounters, and has, according to George, "introduced me to the silver screen. I have had walk-on roles in TheFlamingo Kid and Wall Street." (I know Mike Phillips is a '65, but this is much more exciting than the news you guys give me!) George writes more. He and wife Becky have two kids, Adam 3, and Jennifer 1. George reports he is in contact with RickReiss, Dennis Kaufman, Dean Spatz, DonGlazer, Allan Nadler. Rick Reiss is a general partner of Cumberland Associates, an investment management firm in NYC. Dennis Kaufman is living in Norwich, Vt. Dean Spatz is president of Osmonics Inc. in Minneapolis. Don Glazer is a partner with Ropes and Gray in Boston. Allan Nadler is a managing director at Drexel Burnham.

Not much here with the personal touch of the editor, but my next column will be due around income tax time. I'm sure I'll get more reaction then.
