The biggest news this month is the loss of our Class Agent, Al Frey; Al has accepted a position as special assistant to Under-Secretary of the Treasury John L. Sullivan '21. Taking over a new and very responsible job made it necessary for Al to give up his class agency just as he was getting all wound up for another campaign. Needless to say he will be sorely missed. His successor has not been named but negotiations indicate that he will be more than acceptable. However, it will be a tough job to step in right in the middle of the game, so I guess it's up to us to contribute heavily and punctually.
Lt. Col. Charlie Sargent writes from Eng- land that in spite of the fact that he is terribly busy getting ready for things to come, Dart- mouth and the Class of Twenty are often in his mind. The picture shows him with Charlie Mills. You may remember that Charlie was a transfer from the University of Minnesota. He was with us only a few months when he an- swered the World War 1 call. Charlie also mentions seeing a lot of a staff officer who is a close friend of Charlie Mc G. and Freddy Hamm. The officer's named was not given, possibly a military secret. The letter is concluded with, "no snow—no cold days—crops coming up,—RAF and AAF busy as hellhealth and courage excellent.
Congratulations to Mugs Morrill. His engagement to Miss Lucia J. Bryant was announced early in February. Miss Bryant is a graduate of the Bennett School, Millbrook, N. Y„ and has studied sculpture in New York City. At present she is a Red Cross nurse's aide.
Word has been received of the death of two classmates; Vern Arnold and Russ Henderson. There was a time not long ago when months would elapse without having the sad duty of reporting the demise of any of our members but within the last six months we have had five bereavements. The Necrology section of a future issue will contain the obituaries.
Last month I reported a new address for Hike Newell, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Someone gave me the wrong dope. He is still living in Greenwich, Conn, and has his office in N. Y Bill Sinclair has been lost sight of for some time, we find him at 151 Sylvan Road, Bloomfield, N. J Charlie Goodnow writes Dick Pearson that his new job as Boston District Manager for Standard Brands began January 3. He gives his new address as 50 Myopia Road, Winchester, Mass. (Robin Pearson, Mrs. Dick, wonders if the delay in reporting this wasn't short-sighted of Charlie .... it also took me-a little time to get it). Dick tells me that the Class History is being slowed up by the slow returns of his questionnaire; about 70% still outstanding. Now that your income tax is figured and reported put Dick next on the list.
And in conclusion Make May 1 the deadline for (a) Alumni Fund Contribution and (b) a long personal history to Mr. Pearson.
