This is one of those months when news is terribly scarce but here goes with what is on hand Al Haas wires that the New York '20 Club found it necessary to postpone the May meeting but will hold it on June 20 at the Dartmouth Club in New York.
There is no question in my mind that Paul Canada has become affiliated with the Passaic (N. J.) National Bank and Trust Co. To date, I have received seven newspaper clippings which carried the news. They are all from different papers and as you might expect none came from Paul. Paul was so successful in his job as Senior Deputy Administrator for the N. J. War Finance Committee that Geo. Young, Jr. 'l4, persuaded him to become his assistant. Mr. Young is president of the Bank.
The following plea from Dick Pearson, "Time is running out on us, and I've just realized that this is the last chance to get a reminder of the 25th Report into the ALUMNI MAGAZINE before summer arrives. Won't you make as fervent a plea as you can for the boys to fill out their questionnaires and rush them to me? It's a fact that I will need all the spare time I can find during the summer, just to get the copy in shape for the printer, whomust have it by early fall. Most of the boys have been holding out because there were other pressing matters to be attended to; and even more because in their modesty they can't believe that their personal stories would seem exciting or even interesting to others. But the fact is that the other fellows' account of himself, no matter how blunt and straight forward a telling of the facts, always does turn out to be interesting, especially as a sort of renewing of acquaintance after almost 25 years. I can testify to that very strongly from a reading of those that have come in. The Report will only be satisfactory in proportion to the number of firsthand biographical accounts it contains." Dick's address is Blind Brook Lodge, Rye, N. Y.
You will all be sorry to hear that Wes Jones lost his wife on March 30. Mrs. Elisa Rigouard Jones was born in France and came to the U. S. as a girl. She attended State Teachers College in Albany, N. Y. and Columbia University. She had been teaching French for more than twenty years.
One more last appeal; the Alumni Fund. Rog Pope tells me that we are way off in both the number of contributors and the amount per contribution. If you haven't already given, please do so right away, and, if you have, reconsider the amount and possibly mail another check.
