Ken Harvey writes from Washington, "I have just read with surprise the proposal that the Class of 1924 hold a reunion this year.To me, it appears that a reunion in times like these would reflect unfavorably upon the College.
"After all we haven't won the war yet. That being the case the average individual is not going to be favorably inclined toward an affair of this sort. Therefore, it seems as though the turnout would be limited. Also I should think the College would definitely frown upon such an idea.
"In the third place we have no right to take up transportation space which is reserved primarily for Members of the Armed Forces.
"We are all going to regret not being able to hold our 20th on schedule but after all we are not so bad off as we were two years ago. At that time it looked as though we would never hold any more reunions of any type unless they were Chain Gang reunions, working for those three International S—O—B—.....
"P.S. My son, Ken Jr., enlisted in V-5 (Naval Aviation) last week." Thanks for your letter, Ken. We have had expressions for holding some kind of a reunion this year and some opposed to doing so.
We understand that Moderator Pete Wheatley insists upon order and more order in the meetings over which he presides.
