Greetings Twoters!

Our 25th Reunion dates have been set forJune next. In other columns of this issue will be found the announcement by the College, and arrangements made for the inauguration of the new plan to provide a special place for the 25th class in the Commencement activities. Originally we were working on the usual program for the weekend after Commencement but the interesting proposal was made and after consideration and discussion, we accepted the suggestion.

President Dickey has emphasized his keen interest in making available to one class each year on the occasion of its significant 25th anniversary, the opportunity of participating in the official life of the College at the impressive Commencement exercises and at other events of the weekend when Alumni, seniors, and their parents, and the. faculty and Trustees would be brought together, representing all sides of Dartmouth life.

The principle motivating the plan is to build a new tradition at Dartmouth, to recognize and give full emphasis to the importance of the 25th Reunion in the life of each class, and to bring the men and families of that class into close and official association with the Commencement participants.

We are most happy to be the first class chosen for this honor.

The highlights of the weekend will be the President's Reception • Friday evening, the Commencement exercises Sunday morning, at which we as a class will occupy a special section of seats, also our usual picnic and class banquet. Further plans and details will be outlined in forthcoming issues of the MAGAZINE and by the reunion committee.

Fran Leland as chairman, assisted by Carter Hoyt as co-chairman, have accepted the job of heading up our 25th Reunion program. These men will select their committees in the near future and there will be reunion news in every issue of the MAGAZINE from now on.

Remember, our 25th is the one and onlyso peg the dates on your calendar and in your mind—JUNE 13 15, 1947—and plan to be on deck!

Now for some general news items—Ralph Cunningham, of Orchard Park, N. Y„ has recently retired as credit manager for Weed & Company of Buffalo, because of illness. Ralph hopes to get to Hanover in some of his leisure time, and we all wish him an early and'complete recovery.

Big Bill Haas deposes, via Miner, that he's "about in status quo" (why so modest, my friend?) and goes on to mention that Chris Suttmeier is purchasing agent for the Ford Instrument Company (Sperry subsidiary) of Long Island City. Chris has .five children, with a boy on each end.

Judge Tony Hanlon, with great delight, reports the birth of his son on July 14. We are all happy for Eleanor and Tony, as the young man is their first born. The lad has been entered in the class of 1967!

Last June Les Wagner, Chicago'investment man, went up to Ann Arbor for the commencement exercises in which his son, Dave, participated. David went to Michigan in July '44, enlisted in the Navy reserve as a V-12, and was graduated with an A.B. degree. He's Phi Beta Kappa and a Psi U. Dave is now an ensign in the reserve and will be on active duty for a year aboard a PCE boat.

During August, I was fortunate to find Jake Lawler free for lunch on a day I was in New York. Jake is a newcomer in the big city, is connected with Jamestown Amusement, Co., Inc., 132 W. 43, the booking office for the M. A. Shea Theatrical Enterprises. He and Marguerite and three-year Carroll Jr. have bought a home at 9 Custer Ave., Yonkers, N. Y.

Some of you Twoters around midtown New York—Johnson, Earle, Kenyon, Goldbeck, to mention a few—give Jake a buzz for lunch some day.

Last fall (sorry we're so late with this) the employees of the King Cigar Company of Flint, Mich., gave a surprise dinner and party for President Roy Ball. Roy was presented with a scroll by his staff, signifying an expression of appreciation, affection, and highregard.

Roy was in Boston in September of this year and Fran Leland arranged a spur-of-the-moment luncheon. Gray Bates, Bill Mann, Carter Hoyt and Bill Bullen joined Roy and Fran at the University Club.

I'm afraid we haven't paid sufficient tribute to Stan Miner for his wonderful work for the Alumni Fund campaign ended last June. Our total contribution was $8,092.29, 93% of our objective of $8,740, and a dollar total that stands at a high, if not the highest, point in all of the drives. I am confident that the campaign of next spring will be the most successful ever.

Last summer a group of Chicago Twoters lunched with Leland during one of his western trips; Taylor, Wagner, Pierce, Saunders, and Hotchkiss did the honors.

Wally Mountcastle is now the manager of the Hotel Belmont, 3844 Euclid Ave., Cleveland.

Carl Davis has joined Carroll Dwight's company, the London Harness Company of Boston. Carl was Carroll's best man and they have been close friends for years. Their association in business should prove most happy in all respects. Joe Cohen, Gem Crib & Cradle representative in New York, has purchased a factory of his own in Gardner, Massachusetts.

So long for now. See you next month.
