The news in the column may be a bit thin for the next month or so, as Horan, the buzzard, has stolen some o£ my backlog. But it's all in a darn good cause—the ALUMNI FUND—and the justly famous Twoter needed the real hot dope. So if you find a few duplications herein, just forget 'em—and read the real news in. the Twoter as dished up in Frank's top flight style.

Lt. Col. Norm Crane has been awarded the Legion of Merit by the War Department for his service in the Medical Corps. The accompanying citation offers ample proof of Norm's great abilities. The award was well earned and 1922 is proud of Norm and the superb part he played.

Ort Hicks tells me that Jake Lawler is chief broker for the Shea circuit at 1540 Broadway, New York City, and sees him at intervals. And by the way, gents, Hicks says, "Next to 1921 notes I always like yours best." Coming from '21 that sure is praise! Thanks, my friend!

A most interesting news article about Joe Talbot reached my desk the other day. It seems that he stands a good chance of get. ting the Republican nomination for Governor of Connecticut one of these days—and the article went on to trace Joe's background from early days to the present. As you know he is now Representative of the 5th Connecticut District, and is a member of the Judiciary committee in the House. Joe's family consist of Mrs. T., Grace, 10, Lucile, 13, Barbara, 14 and Joe Jr., 5, the pride of the family.

Clif Watson and an associate have formed the firm of Watson and Desmond, Charlotte, N. C., to handle textile supplies. Additional offices have been opened in Atlanta and Greensboro, N. C., and Greenville, S. C. Before his WPB association during the war, Clif was general and sales manager for Watson-Williams Mfg. Cos., and later southern sales manager for Emmons Loom Harness Cos. Good luck, Clif.

Larry Barnett is a patent lawyer in Chicago, 53 W. Jackson Blvd., and lives at 778 Vernon Ave., Glencoe, 111. His family comprises Mrs. B.; a daughter, Rockford College junior; son, a Dartmouth freshman; and a younger son in the Navy. Nice to hear from you Larry, and you Chicago lads, keep this boy in '2B circles.
