COINCIDENT with the first drizzle o£ the season, but there the parallel ends, 83 sun-tanned members o£ the tribe celebrated "Dartmouth Night" at the Hollywood Knickerbocker on the traditional October 10.

The Rev. Hi Crosby '22 trekked in from Beaumont to deliver the oration and did so very ably, despite his apology that an Episcopal clergyman was a Catholic who had flunked in Latin. Folowing a few genteel plugs for Tri Kap, Hi put the feelings we all have about the College into simple, sincere words we wished we could have managed for ourselves. New President Dick Hood 'go kept things rolling at an active clip; Ken Lieber '36 and Brad Peterson '37 raked in the money, Bones Joy 'l6 and Johnny Merrill '37 led the songs as usual, and mechanical wizard Bill Adams '35 switched from cranking out announcements on the JWT mimeograph to running some excellent film through a 16mm projector. Idea—how about the College releasing an inexpensive "Dartmouth Newsreel" a couple times a year for Alumni affair showings?

A few days before the dinner the ExecCommSoCal gathered around President Dick Hood '30 for the revolutionary procedure of planning out the year's activities instead of adlibbing as emergencies arise. Out of the heckling came some really swell ideas, and Big Things are on the hook. Next event a courtesy of CBS' Charlie Ryder '31, a trick re-creation of the Cornell game. See you there.
