As these words are written, the chubby face of your secretary is wreathed in pleasant smiles. Oh happy day, brother, we have "more news on you '39ers than we can possibly use in this edition. There are about 250 answers to our questionnaire which are neatly filed in a convenient spot, and we're optimistically looking for at least 200 more. That's enough to make any "Alumni-notes" correspondent happy for weeks.

HERE AND THERE: We learn that Ken MacDonald's western junket has ended at 3813 30th Ave. N„ Seattle, Wash., where Ken is now busy studying for the bar exams. En route he stopped in on Bud and Mary Little in Helena, Mont., and Bill Harrison in Chicago. Ken further reports that Colby Howe is now situated in Seattle also SteveBradley is now the ski coach for the U. of Colorado where he is also doing graduate work at the College of Fine Arts. Steve lives at 2424 4th St., Boulder, Colo., with wife Anne and children Lynn and Dick Bill Webster reports from Santa Monica, Calif., that he ran into Wayne Shrodes, Hank Mills and BobFletcher at a Dartmouth gathering in honor of President Dickey. Web has recently arrived back in the East where he is attending flight school preparatory to a bit of commercial piloting Ned Bayrd is at the Mayo Clinic where he has been a Fellow since 1944. Ned has two sons, Edwin D. Jr. and Garret, ages 2½ and 1 year respectively. Incidently he has written a package of articles, all having to do with medicine of course, and published in various medical journals.... Stan Beskind and wife Irene are living in Great Neck, L. I. Stan is the assistant sales manager of the Wash- ington Garter Corp., who deals in—you guessed it—elastic products Hack Davenport and wife Doris have three children who they affectionately call, Steve, Kelly and Miss Puff. The first two are twins and Miss Puff is a more recent addition of a slightly different pattern. Hack is the vice president of Davenport Lunch Inc., operators of excellent restaurants in the Harrisburg, Pa., area Max Goldstein is a practicing physician in West Hartford, Conn., where he lives with wife Bette and son David Al, Jane and young KarenGorman are living in Troy, N. Y., where Al operates with Gorman Bros. Inc., road oilers.

DOWN THE AISLE: Bob Bacon married Simone Chevalier, September 14, in New York City. Simone is a two college girl having attended Syracuse and N.Y.U. Bob is in the advertising dept. of Shell Oil Cos., located in N.Y.C. .... Les Chase took Marian Mulcahy for hi' bride on October 26 in Winthrop, Mass. They are at home at 33 Circuit Rd., Winthrop Bob Elkins and Myrtle Hackenberry became man and wife on October 19 in Springfield, Mass., where Bob is doing some field engineering for Adams & Ruxton Construction Cos Lorry Smith and Billie Skinner were scheduled for nuptials on Jan. 18, which is still a few days hence at this writing, but the marriage will have been happy history by the time these words are read. The place—Chicago. Lorry is doing some production scheduling for the A. O. Smith Corp., makers of auto frames, pipe lines, heaters, etc Johnny Parke married Margaret Blatchford at Lakeville, Conn, on August 8.

In recent months we reported two engagements which have since been culminated by marriage. Opie Richardson married Virginia Weeks November 2, in Fall River, Mass. Opie is an insurance broker with H. K. & O. P. Richardson, General Insurance Agency in Attleboro, Mass. Horton Wainright and Dorothy Anne Dowd signed up for life on September 7, in Dorothy's home town of Rosindale, Mass. Bob Dickgiesser, Duke Lyon, and Hal MacGilpin served as ushers and Don Wheaton was on hand to observe The announcement of the engagement of Bruce Gillie and Janet Moore was made on November 30. Janet attended Denison University. Bruce says they will be married in March or April.

FOLLOWING THE STORK: Wendy Joan Adler put in an appearance October 3, which naturally delighted papa Bud, mama Joan and three-year-old sister Jamie. The Adlers live in Highland Park, Ill, where Bud is the Director of Purchasing for Helene Curtis Industries, Inc., manufacturers of beauty equipment and supplies and Natco motion picture equipment Olie Anderson and wife Betty now have two children since the arrival of R. E. Olds Jr. who was born in Lansing, Mich., on August 9. Olie is the manager of Woldumar Farm in Lansing The BillBradfords welcomed the first young lady into their family on November 28. Tiny Betsy follows Bill Jr. (4½) and Don (2) in seniority. Bill is the production manager of Worcester Moulded Plastics Co., in Worcester, Mass. .... Perhaps Father-of-the-month should be Art Bright. Says Art, "Twin boys were born on December 31,—weights 7 lbs. 4 oz., and 7 lbs. 6 oz. Coupled with 9 lb. 13 oz. birthweight of our first girl, I challenge anyone in the class to produce evidence of greater totals than 24 lbs. 7 oz. in two tries. What is even more important, the quality is as high as the quantity." Art is an Instructor at Tuck School, and I suppose, very very satisfied with himself at the moment. He should be!

Harry and Gladys Edmondson greeted their first child on October 16. It is a girl named Jan. Harry is the Assistant Sales Mgr. of the Nosco Plastics Co. in Eire, Pa Bud andJean Foster had child number two on August 6 when Jo-Anwyl joined 4-year-old brother Dick. Bud is a salesman with Kelley-Sutherland & Co., food brokers, in and around Boston Hank and Margaret Harwood are beginning to face the same problems as that lovable "Old lady who lived in a shoe." David Kistler Harwood was born November 22 and makes child number four. The others,—Albert L. III (6), Kenneth (4) and Elizabeth (2). Hank is an engineer with Ucinite Co. (div. of United-Carr Fastner Corp.) makers of radio equipment David Hopkinson was born November 21 to Johnny and Florence. He makes number two and follows John III in family precedence. Johnny and family are living in Hartford, Conn., where John is an Invoice Auditor with Hartford Electric Light Co.

THE CLEARING HOUSE: Should anyone in the class desire the address of any '39er, just drop a note to your secretary, and presto!!—you get the address. And as long as you're making the effort to write your scribe, don't forget to include a bit of personal news, maybe a snapshot or two huh!!!

It is with great regret that we report the death of Bert MacMannis' wife Gloria on January 16, and the loss of their newly born son Kenneth, two days later. I am sure that your Secretary speaks for the entire class when he extends deepest sympathy to Bert and his three-year-old son Corky, on their very great loss.
