DARTMOUTH MENLUNCHEON EVERY MONDAY NOONUNIVERSITY CLUB, CHICAGO

Our Dartmouth Night (October 15) Cocktail Party, at the University Club brought out a goodly number of the local alumni and their spouses and spouses-to-be. We gathered around the bowl and drank many a toast and sang many a song as we reminisced on our undergraduate and reunion days at the old "College on the Hill." Lyn Shollenberger '33 was in charge of the party and was busy in the dual capacity of greeting the guests as they arrived and passing out the cigars in honor of his daughter born on the eve of Dartmouth Night. In addition to our Prexy, Bob Critchell '33, and Past Presidents Lew Williams '10 and Don MacKay '20, we also saw Cort Horr '18, both members of the law firm of Wright ifWright (John '32 and Frank '35), Jack Taylor '22, Hank Embree '30, Fred Uhlemann '30, Bob King '34 and Swede Olson '43. Also LarryBurtis '32 and his attractive wife, Bea, and Joe Pick '23 who played the piano while we sang until the bowls were filled up for the last time.

We are inaugurating a new program with respect to our Monday Luncheons beginning November 8. The plan is intended to attract new men by arranging programs of special interest to various individual classes and groups of classes. At the November 8 luncheon, the classes of '23, '24, '25 and '26 have received a special invitation to learn about the subject of admissions to Dartmouth, as many of these men, described in their invite as "Prolific Papas," are interested in a Dartmouth education and experience for their sons. Similar luncheons of special interest to other class groups will be held each month.

We are gathering with the Cornell alumni at the Chicago Yacht Club on Saturday, November 13, to receive play-by-play returns of the Big Green-Big Red Game. This is a repeat performance of a similar successful party held last year.

Dick Montgomery '35, editor, and BobWoodcock '33, advertising manager, of our local publication Dartmouth In Chicago, announce that their next issue will be in the mails on November 15 bringing our entire membership of 1250 men up-to-date on the affairs of the Association.

Tickets for the New Year's Day basketball game between Dartmouth and Northwestern will shortly go on sale, and we are assured of ample seats for all of the local alumni.
