Nat and Dorothy Rice stayed in Yalesville, Conn., this winter instead of touring. Nat had a miserable time with two hospitalizations. They hope to go to Maine for the summer.
A plan for establishing a Memorial for members of classes who lost their lives in World War II and the Korean War is proposed. 1913 would be in favor of such a memorial. Captain Rollo W. Hutchinson, U.S. Navy, died during the Korean War.
Bob and Alice More have deserted Colorado for California and have a most attractive house at 223 Indio Drive, Route 1, San Luis Obispo, Calif. Set in or near the mountains, it has everything, including a beautiful Golden Retriever "Big," exercised by Bob, who can outdo "Big" on any walks and climbs.
Edmund and Gladys Freeman have a new address in Washington, D. C. - Apt. 201 at 3024 Porter Street. They returned in April from a swing around through Chicago, Grand Canyon, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Diego. Morro Bay, Menlo Park, San Francisco, Vancouver, Victoria, Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City and home.
We regret to report the death of Earle H.Rodney. He will be remembered by many as Earle Randnitz of our freshman year, espedaily with his defying of the then sophomore class even if it did result in the trough.
Vic Dunbar is one who will celebrate the50th reunion from Manchester High School to be held at the Manchester Country Club. . . . Warde Wilkins is working on his 50th from the Newton High School, celebrated by a dinner at the Brae Burn Country Club in West Newton, Mass., on May 11. Probably many other celebrations will be held.
General and Edna Willson had their first grandchild, a healthy, lovely little girl. "With two Dartmouth Grandfathers it's too bad she won't be going there," says General, but there are proms, Carnivals and Commencements.
On April 18 was held a retirement testimonial dinner for Lowell Tech Coach Dave Morey. Recently Dave has been basketball and soccer coach at Lowell. Dave began his long career at Lowell Tech where he coached football in 1916 and 1917. During this time he also played minor league baseball in the Philadelphia Athletics chain. He coached football at Dartmouth, Middlebury, Auburn, Fordham and Bates, as well as coaching baseball at Boston University. He coached at Marblehead High for six years after Bates, and back to Lowell Tech in 1948, coaching football, lacrosse, basketball and soccer. Football was abandoned in 1950.
The Davidsons' Flower Ranch was inspected in April by 52 members of the Men's Garden Club of the Palm Beaches and another day a Women's Garden Club was there. George and Hattie eat papayas and black raspberries continually, as well as black or red sureinan cherries, muntinga cherries, lime berries and jaboticaba plums. They have twenty new plant and tree specimens this spring.... M. C. Dan Avery, "Cap" flew to Tallahassee for the hearing by joint Senate-House on repeal of the increase in intangible taxes. He is a member of the committee from Boynton Beach making the countywide tax study.
