Dartmouth Men—Luncheon Every MondayNoon, University Club

THE FALL SEASON of this association got under way with the undergraduate luncheon held at the University Club on September 22. The undergraduates, including incoming freshmen, were in most instances accompanied by their dads. Among these were the following Dartmouth father and son combinations: Ralph Hinners '22 and sons, Gordon '45 and George '49; Gene Hotchkiss '22 and sons, Jim and Gene '50; Rog. Wilde '21 and son Rog. Wilde, Jr. '49; Joe Barnett '13 and son, Tom '51; Ken Henderson '16 and son, Ken Henderson, Jr. '51. The Outing Club trip, preceding the opening of college, resulted in several of the boys leaving before our farewell luncheon. Karl King '25 said his son, David '50, had left the day before. SpicSaunders '22 reported the same respecting son Kenneth '4B.

President Don MacKay '20 greeted those present, and, in customary style, each boy present introduced himself and his dad.

The "Dartmouth Night" cocktail party on October 10, was a whooperdoo. They don't mix or serve drinks any better than at Chicago's University Club. The ladies' dining room (where we gathered) was filled to the bursting point for a while. Joe Pick '21 was at the piano, providing a background of Eleazar Wheelock while we filled the bowl up tillwell until our wives reminded us it was about time for dinner. We hadn't seen Dr. Joe Bennett '32 for years. He is at the suburban Lake Forest Hospital. We also saw Dr. Frank Munsey '41, formerly of Swampscott, Mass., and at present Resident Physician, specializing in Pediatrics, at the Illinois Research Hospital. Frank's attractive wife was also along. RalphJohnson '41, Parker Johnston '37, Si Morand '27, Bill Embree '21, Bill Juergens '21, AlLouer '26, Lew Williams '10, Bob King '34, Tom Vent '39 and John Wright '32 were among the other faces we saw. Accompanied by their wives, we noticed John Clements '29, Charlie King '29, George Lyon '25, Dick Gunthorp '26, Ev. Marsh 'OB, Conner Shaw '43, Ken Thomas '21 and "Pop" Nairne '36.

Hank Embree '30, who arranged the affair, escorted his attractive spouse, Ruth. Our prexy Don MacKay '20 and his talented wife, Ruth MacKay, the newspaper columnist, milled about the crowd, while Audrey McClory, wife of our Secretary Bob McClory '30, was rehearsing Dartmouth songs to teach her two Dartmouth prospects for the classes of '61 and '64 respectively.

The Scholarship Committee, headed by Tom Hicks '36 and sparked by Hal Sommer '40, is the most ambitious and active segment of our Chicago association at present. This year's plan is to add $5,000 to the scholarship fund with a goal of having this association offer a scholarship each year.

Dan Schuyler '34, a prof at Northwestern University Law School, recently enlightened the Chicago lawyers with two lectures at the Chicago Bar Association.

Bob Drake '29, recently of the legal staff of the N.L.R.B. office in Chicago, has left us to teach law at the University of Idaho.
