The fall program of the Dartmouth Club of Washington has been full and interesting. The first event of the year was our send-off luncheon for Washington members of the Class of 1952 with Rad Hibben '43 as Chairman of the party. We had ten members of the new class as our guests and are looking forward to seeing them again as full-fledged undergraduates at our Christmas luncheon. There were two Dartmouth father and son teams present, Harold Ingersoll '17 and William T. Ingersoll '52, and Wellington F. Barto '29 and his son John '52.

On October 3 the Dartmouth Club sustained an immeasurable loss in the death of its founder and constant friend, Henry P.Blair '89.

Thanks to the splendid efforts of Chairman Bill Yelverton '36, the Dartmouth Night celebration was one of the best ever. President Percy Russell '29 presided over the dinner meeting held at the Burlington Hotel. The program was most enjoyable. Our famous Quartet provided excellent music; Z. Mink Brook, our Historian, maintained his usual high standard in presenting his review of the Club's activities; Gus Welch, formerly quarterback with the Carlisle Indians, gave a very enjoyable talk generously interspersed with anecdotes of the Dartmouth-Carlisle game at the Polo Grounds in 1913; and Colonel William A.Eddy '19 did a magnificent job of drawing our thoughts back to Dartmouth to draw the meeting to a close.

The program was interrupted by the appearance of Senator Lucien X. Baghorn (Rad Hibben '43) who presented the report of the. Nominating Committee, substituting for Chairman Stirling Wilson 'l6 who was detained in New York. The following officers were retained in office until our Spring Dinner in April: President, Percy H. Russell '29; Ist Vice-President, Herbert H. Harwood '26; 2nd Vice-President, Harold H. Leich '29; and Secretary-Treasurer, Lawrence C. Reeves '33.

The local chapter of The Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, Inc., begins to take on a strong green hue. At their recent Harvest of Harmony concert at the Constitution Hall the following Dartmouth men participated: Taylor Papson '14, Stirling Wilson '16, Larry Pope '18, Chuck Grant '39, Joe Huber '40, Brad Cole '43, and Mickey Beall by adoption.

The Bowling Team is off to a good start this year but Captain Ed Mecutchen '3,1 is still looking for recruits. The team bowls every Thursday at the Lafayette Alleys, 1535 I Street, N. W. Come out and try for the Varsity.

Attendance at the weekly luncheons continues to be good. Thanks to Bob Ford '34 and Westinghouse Corporation we were recently treated to a very interesting technicolor movie, "Electronic Light." Herb Harwood promises to keep the programs up to this high standard, so call up your classmate and drop around.
