Under the capable direction of Chairman John English '40, the Christmas Luncheon for our undergraduates was held at the Sheraton Hotel on December 28. More than 40 men turned out for this splendid affair at which Prexy Percy Russell '29 presided. The following undergraduates spoke: John Barto '52 covered "Freshman Life"; Jim Mitchell '51 took care of "Freshman-Sophomore Relations and Fraternities"; Marvin Stephens 'SO described the activities of the Dartmouth Broadcasting System and the Outing Club; and Everett Wilson '48 gave an excellent summary of "Sports at Hanover." The program concluded with an inspiring talk by George M. Morris '11 speaking for the alumni.
Herb Harwood '26 has continued to provide excellent programs at the Tuesday luncheons. Recent speakers included: Dr. Charles C. Tansill of the History Department of Georgetown University who gave a "very thought-provoking talk, "The Riddle of Russia"; John Meek '33, Treasurer-Elect of the College, who described some of the problems he will soon face in his new position; and Robert McConnaughey '26, Commissioner, Securities and Exchange Commission, whose interesting talk gave us a better understanding of the job the Commission is doing.
The Bowling Team has finished the first half of the Intercollegiate League race and is not in-first place. Captain Ed Mecutcheon '31 is anxious to get new recruits so that we can win the second half and have a try for the championship. The team bowls every Thursday night at the Lafayette Alleys, 1535 I Street, N. W.
Percy Russell as Chairman of the Interviewing Committee has started his big job of checking on the prospective freshmen from this area.
Be sure and keep Wednesday, March 30, open for Dartmouth! On this date we will have a concert by the Glee Club followed by a dance. Details as to the place and time will come later.
