On the evening of March 30 in the main ballroom of the Shoreham Hotel a capacity crowd of Dartmouth men, wives, and friends listened to a wonderful concert by the Glee Club and topped off the evening with a dance. Our sincere thanks go to Bradford D. Cole '43 who did a fine job as chairman of this party —a responsibility he took on in spite of a brand new son at home and a new job with the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company. Congratulations to Director Paul Zeller and to the members of the Glee Club for their fine performance. It was certainly one of the finest Dartmouth parties that we ever had.
Spring vacation brought visits at our luncheon from two of the undergraduates, TomHarrington '47 and Bill Ingersoll '52. Bill was responsible for bringing along his father, Harold B. Ingersoll '17, and we hope Harold will get the Tuesday habit and become a "Regular." We also had a very pleasant surprise when our Washington-to-Hanover commuter, Nat Burleigh '11, dropped in for lunch and also showed up for the Glee Club party.
The Secretary has received many inquiries as to who is responsible for our fine luncheon programs. As has been reported before, this excellent job has been done by Ist Vice-President Herbert H. Harwood '26, who is also Chairman of the Entertainment Committee. The program for March included an excellent color movie of the Colonial Airlines, "Sky Cruises to Bermuda," an interesting talk by Leonard M. Elstad, President of Gallaudet College, and two very fine talks by our own Dr. Lyndon F. Small '20 of the National Institute of Health, who spoke on pain killing drugs, and Herbert S. Woods '10 who spoke on "Labor Legislation." We are certainly proud of the fine job these two men are doing.
Herb's coming program includes "Operations Vittles," official U. S. Air Force film depicting the Berlin Airlift, and Major Frank M.Curtis '36 who will talk of the accomplishments of flying the Airlift, and a talk by Conrad E. Snow '12, Assistant Legal Adviser to the Secretary of State.
We are all looking forward to President Dickey's visit on April 25. He will be our guest of honor at the Annual Spring Dinner to be held at the Shoreham Hotel. Chairman William Howe '30 is expecting a record turnout. There will also be talks by George Colton '35, Executive Secretary of the Alumni Fund, and Joe Sullivan '49, star back of the football team. Football movies, singing, and election of officers complete the program. Bill is being assisted by the following committee members: Karl M. Dollak '35, Bob Ford '34, and Joe Fanelli '32.
