May 14, 1948, is going to be a "Red Letter" Day. Why? Because that is the night that the first five classes of the century, '01, '02, '03, '04, and '05 have their annual get-to-gether at Schraft's in Boston. The regulars will all be there, and those of you who have missed these grand round-ups will want to be on hand, and we guarantee that you won't want to miss another one. So make a big round circle on your calender for that date, and be sure and be with us. We do not want you to miss it.

Full details about the election of "Hoppy" as President of the National Life Insurance Company of Montpelier, Vt., are carried in the news section of this issue. The class not only congratulates him upon the acceptance of this very responsible position but even more so congratulates the National Life Insurance Company for the wisdom of its choice and the good fortune it has in its new leader. For "Hoppy" this new job rolls back the years and once again places him in a position to exercise, the industrial and personnel abilities which were carrying him to a brilliant business career when he was called to the presidency of Dartmouth College. "Hoppy" has established a residence in Montpelier but he and Mrs. Hopkins are still maintaining their Hanover home.

The Hathaways now have a grand-daughter, Wendy, born November 13, 1947, to Mr. and Mrs. Douglas F. Davidson Jr The CharlieHowes recently motored through Florida; they were interested in securing some real estate but did not find just what they wanted. •Charlie has now retired from the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad, but finds plenty to do about his home in Richmond Pa Rollins and son Dan attended the luncheon given Stan Qua in honor of his appointment as Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Court. Pa and Stan were roommates while they were studying at Harvard Law School. .... Doug Vanderhoof reports he is well and busy. We can well believe that as Van is still active in the work of the Richmond Community Chest, having served since 1935 as chairman of the Budget Committee, a year round job, and previous to that was president of the Chest in 1933 and 1934. Both he and Mrs. Van are deeply interested in Saint Stephen's Church, where Van serves as Senior Warden and as an active and efficient member of several of the standing committees.

We would like to hear from each and every one of you regarding an interim reunion this year. Many have said it was too long to wait until 1951, and we heartily agree. Would you prefer to meet in Hanover, or some hotel or resort near Boston or New York? Do you think you could attend if such a party was arranged? Send in your replies and suggestions as soon as you can; we will need such help to complete arrangements.
