THE-GEORGIAN ROOM of the Hotel Statler in Buffalo was the scene of a gala party on February 7, 1948. Some sixty Western New York alumni, together with their wives, flocked to a reception to meet Dr. John S. Dickey upon the occasion of his first official visit to Buffalo since he assumed the Presidency of the College. After a delightful dinner, E. J. Felt '18, the retiring president of the local alumni group, conducted the usual business meeting and then turned the floor over to Dr. Dickey, who told us of the present Hanover scene, explained anew the aims and purposes of the College and discussed the new Great Issues course at length. A discussion period followed, during which Dr. Dickey graciously answered the questions put to him and convinced all present that, under his capable leadership, Dartmouth will become an even greater college and one of which we can become increasingly proud.
At the business meeting the group approved a change in the by-laws of the club whereby fifteen members of the club were elected to the executive committee. In each succeeding year, five new members will be elected to replace five members who will retire, and each year the executive committee shall elect the club's officers from its own membership. The members elected to the executive committee for the ensuing year are:
