Pat and Killer Stoddard throw a wonderful '18party: Present were Admr. Paul Mather, Fat Sheldon, Dan Shea, Gerry Geran, Bill Christgau, Harvey Hood, Dick Holton, Johnny Johnston and Jim Austin (adopted) .. . Pat and George gave us back, in all its flavors, last June's Reunion, when we listened to Amos Blandin's wonderful Vt stories—wonderful new recording in the next issue, an episode; mighty welcome Fat Sheldon was snarling at Stan Jones and Dan Shea for the publicity New Yorkers get, and especially the Publiccaught in a corner, Stan was being worsted and suddenly his steel-ribbed fingers caught Fat's nose in a pinching grip, like squeezing an avocado. Stanley, who had claimed he was not feeling well, was picked up like a sack of meal by Bill Christgau and rushed to a taxicab with all 10 'lBers behind Bill. No one could force the little runt into the cab—'twas like sticking a 12 legged crab into the top of a milk bottle. Said Fat Sheldon later "what a wiry wizard he is! Before our next meeting I shall spend time with a trainer working out complete strategy how to put said Jones in a taxi." Said BillChristgau "the little son-of-a-gun is tough i shouldn't have gone through that struggle" and Bill wheezed again Stanley skiied, skated, squashed, and sipped for a whole week in Hanover in Feb.

STUMPIE BARR'S BIG FATHER AND SONS DINNER, MARCH 4—news about this in the next issue a wonderful Hanover party.....Lang Robinson is now Gen. Mgr. of Wiedlocher & Sons (milling Co.), Springfield, Ill.! after spending most of his life in the metal business, and as an army officer Knowing that LesGranger was to be the top speaker at the Annual Meeting of Urban League in Springfield, Lang thoughtfully arranged for many Dartmouth men and their wives, including Bill Dutelle and Gene Clark '18, and they had a very enjoyable time. Says Lang "we enjoyed having Les as a guest personally and appreciated the opportunity to get to know him better than we were ever able to know him, either during college or later. I also feel that it is interesting and encouraging to note the impact which he made on the people here in Springfield, who heard him talk at the Urban League dinner. He is not only one of the outstanding members of his race but, in my opinion, has done more for his people through the urging of moderation and the use of good common sense, than anybody, either white or black, in this country."

Dick Holton there's a man. How much does he get paid for handling the Alumni Fund for '18? Give him a break—send in your check today. There's probably no keener Comptroller than Dick who fills that spot for the $300 Million E.N.Y. Svgs. Bank. Dick, who ran the funds for the entire college for 2 years gathering in the maximum dollars—is a member of the Al. Council—a shrewd and astute bond man, and still finds time between his many meetings (Pres. Pomonok Country Club) to lecture on banking and investment problems. Give those sturdy shoulders a break. Let's send in our check today.

'18wins the Cup for three years running. N. Y. Eddie Hart, Princeton '12 football team; enjoyed by eveiyone. Also there was genial Chaunce Hood (JimDuffy was asking all about you, Chaunce) Chaunce was on his back at Reunion with pneumonia, at Mary Hitchcock Hosp., George Hull, the new groom, all the way from Washington (son Dick, speaking fluently German, French, English and Italian, takes Hanover in an easy stride), JudgeDon Macauley (all the way from Springfield, Mass.; just had 10 divorce cases that morning; found time to buy pretty Laura some pearls on sth Ave. got 8 o'clock train back to Springfield). AlStreet, from New Haven (Yale official photographer had a nice snapshot of Commodore Tom Sturgess), Phil Tusting, the writer, welcome addition to the N. Y. Group and all the way from Asbury Park, N. J., Henri vanZelm (note the "i" in Henri) —was everybody glad to see Van! Others milling around in '18s cocktail party in their special room were Walt Nelson, Asst. Mtg. Officer of $300MM E. River Bank Bennie Mugridge, looking like a Rahjah with towels around his head—at other times like a wild Banshee when his hair was disheveled (gave Gerry Geran the leg in the lobby and Gerry sprawled on his chest, breaking those 12 watches he carries in his vest) Sylvester Tobey Morey later on a biz trip, headed for Texas and Florida; Lewis Lee, who quietly smoked his peace pipe—Paul Miner, super N. J. prodder, to whom the proddees are very grateful—SteveMahoney, who acted as a real host to famed Princetonian, Eddie Hart, Wart McElwain (who rejoiced as did we all in his old friendship with SpudRichmond) and Red Hulbert who will be one of the fathers on deck at the Fathers' and Sons' Dinner on 3/4

Enjoying themselves were: Rog Rowland (and there's an AAA prodder for you), who hopes some day to bring along to these parties good old N. H. Hallar Oscar George, who, because of some larynx upset, can only talk in a whisper; Curt Glover (champ swimming son Bill at Yale—Kiputh trying hard to get other son Johnny), Gerry Geran, the teetotaler (we sought Gerry's assistance to lug a couple of cases over from the Dartmouth Club. Getting a splinter in his hand, Gerry pulled out of his back pocket a set of tweezers; enabling him to open a case of grog without a hammer, he pulled out of the other back pocket a screw driver; to stop the bleeding, Gerry pulled out of a side pocket, a first aid kit—the other side pocket, a pair of scissors; hailing the taxi-cab, he pulled out a whistlesays anyone should carry the same when walking around the dark streets of New York think of the thugs here!

Yes, for the 3rd year '18 won the attendance cup the greatest pleasure of all was that of Vour observer in acting as bar tend and receiving the cup—and another year when '18 receives the cup Dick Holton has promised to do the receiving and Pete Colwell to handle the bar. Other welcome guests at the party were Len Shea 17, and Dick Remsen '12. Few men on earth rank with the highest of friendships and loyalties, as does Ed Healey; much beloved in the sports world from coast to coast. .... After the party, back in Jim Carpenter's room, there was clinking of glasses in the blue smoke, and on and on went the talking, until Steve Mahoney, Bill Christgau and Jim Carpenter were snoring, leaving famed Eddie Hart and Ed Healey still talking said Ed, "about 5 a.m. I got sleepy and somewhere around 7, Eddie Hart nudged me; appeared to be still talking although I could find no one awake in the room, and wanted someone to talk."

Those with perfect attendance for 3 years are: Eric Ball,Bill Christgau, Pete Colwell, Gerry Geran, CurtGlover, Dick Holton, Red Hulbert, Stan Jones,Syl Morey, Dwight Sargent, Dan Shea, VanVan Raalte and Red Wilson.
