The vacation in Hanover was well worth the long wait through the summer months. Entirely aside from such major events as the Columbia game, the opportunity to be back in the old surroundings and now and then at random break bread or have a cup of coffee with the local Thirtymen in Hanover is something that no winter or summer resort other than Hanover can offer. Nels andFrances Flanders joined us in that luxury for a long weekend and at the Columbia game we were fortunate to get at least a glimpse of such out-of-towners as Rollie Booma, EdButterworth, Les Godwin, Phil Peck, DickBarnard, Hank Newell and Bob Blanchard. Not incidentally, we were chaperones at one of the Fall Houseparties, an invitation which in and of itself is an indication of our age.
Save the dates now of June 17, 18 and 19 for our Twentieth Reunion which will be held in Hanover this next June, 1949, under the new reunion plan. Reunion was the principal topic for discussion at a Class Executive Committee meeting held in New York on November 19. Those attending the meeting (and you will note that some of them came from many miles to do so) were SamAdams, Hank Embree, Lee Chilcote, Al Dickerson, Fred Scribner, Si Chandler, BudFrench, Bill Jessup, Vic Borella, Pat Weaver and Charlie Rauch. Sometime prior to the meeting Si Chandler had advised us that it would be impossible for him to act as Reunion Chairman again this coming June. Si's resignation was accepted with real regret and with a rising vote of appreciation for all that he has done for us in the past in that capacity. Charlie Rauch was elected as Chairman of the Reunion Committee. This is not the place to detail the plans for reunion which were determined upon at the meeting, and in the near future you will hear from Charlie and the members of his committee giving you those details. In the meantime, save the dates of June 17, 18 and 19, 1949 and when the Reunion Committee announces its plans, please make your reservations with the Committee as soon as possible.
On the day following the Executive Committee meeting, most of those who were at the meeting attended the Princeton game en masse and that evening were royally entertained by Bud and Celie French in Montclair. The Princeton game was too exciting to afford much opportunity for getting around in Palmer Stadium (most especially as we arrived just at the time of the kick-off), but I did happen to spot Herb Chase, FredWatson, Hoss Allyn, Tom Peirce, Tom Dunning, Milt Mclnnes, Bill Blanchard, ChickPooler, Al Fisk, Lee Eisler and Wally Wasmer.

On November 12 Hank Odbert was married in Washington, D. C. to Gwendoline L. Daniel, who was formerly a Wave Lieutenant in the Office of Naval Research where Hank was working this past summer. Bob Marr was Hank's best man at the wedding. As previously reported, Hank is working in Washington, but is living at 532 Argyle Drive, Falls Church, Va Ed Warren reported that Byron Palmer was recently married and is now living in Hartford, Conn., but failed to give us the name of Byron's bride Bill Wilson announced the arrival of a new daughter, April, on September 17. Bill is now living in San Marino, Calif., where he moved last year The other recent additions to the vital statistics department indicate that Director of Admissions Dickerson's problem, is a growing one: On July 16 Kelsea Moore welcomed his first son, who was named H. Kelsea Moore Jr. Justin M. Fieischman arrived al the Milt Fleischman home in Corte Madera, Calif, on July 24. Lee Sturman's third son, Emanuel, was born on September 7 and joined his two older brothers, Stewart, 7 1/2, and Jonathan, 5 1/2. George Parkhurst welcomed John L. Parkhurst on October 27, 1948.
