"Buck" and Gladys Freeman were at their Vermont home "Singing Waters" during the middle weeks of August. Previous to that Maine had a visit and "Buck" put in some time at the Harvard Business School Library.
On August 19 Nancy Dyke Trowbridge became Mrs. Richard Fraser Coe in the First Unitarian Church in Worcester. Following the reception Parker and Zylpha Trowbridge gave a reception in their home, is Tuller Rd. The matron of honor was Mrs. Edward Whitaker (Jean Parker Trowbridge) of Providence, sister of the bride, 2nd one of the ushers was Anthony Dyke Trowbridge, brother of the bride. While Richard Coe is attending Washington State College, he and Mrs. Coe will live in Pullman, Wash.
Howard and Luella Ball o£ Unity and Claremont, N. H. visited Boston this tall and the secretary enjoyed meeting the bride at lunch at the Parker House. Their stay was long enough to enable Howard to take in the regular Wednesday noon class luncheon at Pattens The luncheons—'13, '14 and '15 have had a brave start this fall. George Steele,Doc Willis, Carl Shumway, George Knight,Bart Shepard and Warde Wilkins are regulars.
Mose Ewing and Miss Bertha Hackett were married on July 24, 1949. Miss Hackett was formerly secretary to the Dean of Berry Col lege, Mount Berry, Ga., where Mose was Professor of Music from 1931 to 1938. He has been incapacitated since July 1 because of a dual cataract operation, but expected to return to Raytheon Co. on October 1. He has two new football songs coming out soon- "The Thunder of Your Cheer" and "Hit Them Again." The Ewings now live at 13 Otis St., Watertown, Mass.
George Watts and his family had a grand summer on Cape Cod but left early to attend the triennial council of Phil Beta Kappa at Madison and then on to San Francisco for the 22nd annual meeting of the American Assn. of Teachers of French. Later he attended the sessions of the Modern Language Assn. at Stanford University. On a hurry home trip, he took time off at Grand Canyon. "Betty is now 15, a great swimmer and sailor and learn ing tennis rapidly. She was captain of the Davidson High Girls basketball team last year and next year hopes to go to Northfield School."
Bob Mungall has been working since last March as Planning Engineer for the City of Anaheim, Calif. They have their grandchildren, boys 5 and 6 and a girl 1 year, living near them in Anaheim.
The Clarence von Tackys sold their Perry St., Titusville home last year and have been traveling since or spending their time at their North Carolina home. You can reach them always at Box 150, Titusville, Pa., however.
Line Wilson reports that his golf stays good, in fact too good, so he's looking for something to break. Jane, his daughter, has been in Honolulu this summer.
The Ned Crawfords spent their vacation in Northern Wisconsin and found fine cool weather. We wonder if the Ray Schultes joined them there.
Bill Mason made a trip to the West Coast this summer, missing much golf, but the trip, as wonderful as it was, made up for the miss. .... George Davidson toured westward and northwest also, and was at Maniton Springs (Foot of Pike's Peak), Col. for a week. His home in Florida escaped the hurricane damage except the expected amount to shrubbery and trees Ralph Bauman and his wife toured the Montana Rockies to dodge the August heat.
Collin Wells was named director of community relations by the Riverside Children's Assn., New York. The association is an interracial agency placing and maintaining homeless and neglected children in foster homes in New York. Collin previously was director of the N. Y. Committee of the United Negro College Fund. Before that he was director of the United Yugoslav Relief Fund of America and had served with the Greater New York Fund, the Paderewski Fund for Polish Relief, the British War Relief Society and the United China Relief.
Miss Virginia Lenfesty was married to George Edward Kanouse Jr., of Summit, N. J., on October 1 in the home of her parents, Mr.and Mrs. Nathan Coggeshall The bride's only attendant was her sister, Miss Janet Lenfesty. George" Kanouse is a Brown man and served as a Lieutenant in the Navy in the Pacific theatre for two and a half years aboard the USS Alvin C. Cockrell.
Ralph Samuel and Dr. George Baehr presented a copy of the Jewish Federation's plans to Gov. Dewey of New York as he opened the $50,000,000 campaign. Ralph is president of the Federation.
