MONDAY NOON LUNCHEON
Town Club 1642 N. Farwell Ave.
Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Sidney C. Hayward '26, Secretary of the College, was guest speaker at a Dartmouth banquet held Feb. 4, at the China Cupboard in Milwaukee. Sid discussed the College's finances, the building program, admissions, and the Chicago Tribune, answering questions on all of these subjects, and more too. He stressed the importance of prospective students being interviewed by alumni, encouraging our group to continue with this work.
A couple of reporters dropped in on our Milwaukee meeting, but we didn't make the headlines this time. So that's why, Sid, you are not getting the clippings we promised you.
Your secretary isn't so hot as an official greeter. I phoned Brad Brown '28 that I planned to meet Sid's train. Brad replied that he would do the honors. And, you guessed it neither one of us showed up. The luncheon location was changed after the official program had been sent to Hanover. So all in all, Sid must have had a few bad minutes, for which we officially apologize.
How would you like to have an office right next to the University Club—so you could sit in a comfortable chair and watch your help slaving away? Cliff Randall '26 has just that.
Monte Huebsch and Bill Stark are attending college in France and Germany respectivelytheir junior year 1 believe. Good luck boys, but don't forget to return to the fold here in Milwaukee when you get back.
Did we tell you that Donald Gates '42 is president of the Exchange Club?
The group decided to change the Monday luncheons to the Town Club, in Milwaukee. Too many of us are getting Milwaukee fronts. so the fare will be less elaborate, and the exercise of waiting upon ourselves will do us good besides saving time. This, of course, is important on Monday, which is supposed to be the day we start out with lots of ambition!
