How old can a guy get in thirteen years out of Hanover? Al Flouton found his answer when he went back there recently, as a visiting lecturer for a Tuck School class. The weather was beautiful, and Al seized the opportunity to fill his eyes with Hanover from the Bema tower. Shortly after spiraling to the top, he was joined by two other men— obviously younger .... obviously undergraduates. Al started the conversation: "Hi, fe11a5.".... "Hi." .... "What class are you?" .... The duet answered, "Fifty-two." A moment's silence, followed by, "What class are you?" .... "Thirty-six" More silence. Then, from one of two young fellows came a single dumbfounded "Wow!" The other undergraduate, perhaps a more sensitive soul, reprimanded his colleague sotto voce, "You shouldn't have said that. You might have hurt his feelings."

The moral? Simply, when you go back to Hanover at any time other than reunion (when, of course, everybody acts like undergraduates), never ask a stranger his class.

We wonder if the above situation was experienced by Clark Sorensen, who came to Hanover from Cleveland during March (we assume, for the same purpose as did Al)? Or by Don Sutherland, Bill Hoffman, and BobBlades?

Mid-March found '36ers in this area coming out of hibernation for the first class cocktail party of the year. A good turn-out and a good time, according to spontaneous observations of many. There was no roll call; but we think we checked off everybody: Lillian and Roy Adams, Jerrie and RayBuilter (who came down from Bridgeport, Conn.), Joe Davis, Jean McCreary and DickDorrance, Al Flouton, Ollie and Dink Gidney,Nancy and Phil Gilbert, Peggy and JackGreenwood, Frank Kappler (now picture editor of the N. Y. World-Telegram), Nancy andGeorge McCleary, Ruth and Jocko Morrison,Riki and Pep Mintz (both looking sun-baked from their honeymoon in Latin American places), Boyce Price, Peg and Ray Reitman,Anne and Don Robbins (who used the occasion as an excuse for a weekend in the Big City—and a possible "break" from the 5 young Robbins'). Still more.... Yumi and JackSmith, Nancy and Jack Sawyer, Norm Sherry,Lee and Art Wasserman, John Wiesman, GilBalkam, Dave Fox and Pic and Norb Hof man.

The bit of organizing required to bring a gang like this together is well worth the sight of '36 faces—and, more important—of '36 wives. We cannot recommend too strongly that you guys in Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Los Angeles and wherever try to do the same.

Here's a report that Bob Paterson has been made an officer and director of the Chemical Sales Corp. in Rochester, N. Y. But don't for one minute think that this will interfere with Bob's activities as Alumni Fund Chairman. You'll be hearing from him one of these days.

I guess our mailman has spring fever. He hasn't dropped off any mail in the last few weeks. You'll be doing him a favor,—yourselves and us too—if you make his load a little heavier. How's about some news from RenOstrom, Len Florsheim, Bob Keeler, Jim Pollack, and the rest of you?
