In response to a greeting sent to Billy Earl on his eightieth birthday I received a snappy note from him from which I quote, "I suppose the octogenarian group is really considered quite unusual, but as a matter of fact I wake up at the same time and feel quite 'topping, don't ye know'." Billy and Mrs. Earl were in Port Jervis, N. Y., where they are getting a rest from home cares and incidentally looking out for their daughter's establishment there. Daughter and family are in France until the last of May.
The Lampreys put in a comfortable winter at their home in Sudbury, and Charlie kept up his stunt of chopping wood pretty regularly. He has on hand, as a result, a crop of fine birch logs if you need some for your fireplace.
On May 3 the Boston Bar Association, at a dinner of the Harvard Club, honored two of its members who joined the Association 50 years ago. One of these men was our BertHolland of the West Roxbury district court. He's not on the shelf, either, but is active in his law practice. '92 honors him, too.
